Dear Mr. Bush,

I wanted to tell you more than anything, Thank you. I realize there have been many controversial decisions made during your time in office, tougher than some Presidents wildest dreams. I have often found myself in diagreeance with you. That is okay, it is not a deal breaker. I mean, afterall, I don't even agree with  my husband all the time.

I wanted to tell you how much your faith touched my life. I was given hope each time you confessed that your faith helped you to make difficult decisions. I have often said myself that what is right is not always popular, especially in the days we are living in. So, thank you for your strong, unwavering faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.

I wanted to tell you not to worry about whether you did the right thing or not. I know that may be impossible. You know that you did the best you could with what information and choices you had. Everyone makes mistakes, and in retrospect the mistakes seem bigger and larger than life. So, please just remember how you lifted our country up in one of the most difficult times in history.

Thank you Mister President for your humor in the face of adversity and hate. Thank you for your love for your family and this country. I have said, and intend on sticking to it, no matter who the President is or was, I will stand by their decisions because I don't know what you know, and have not experienced what you have.

So, Mister President, as you leave the office, I wanted to say Thank you! I also want to ask you to continue to pray for our country, our new President, and our new leaders. Please Mr President, do not waiver in your faith, and please do not doubt the decisions you had to make and the liberty they have brought other countries and other parts of the world.

Sincerely,

Jeana Marie

ps...I am praying for you, Mr. Obama. I wish you nothing but the best of luck and ease of decision making in the time you are in the office of the President of The United States of America!!

God Bless America!!

Re: Dear Mr. Bush,
AMEN!!!

Very well said! I am in total agreeance with you.

"I I don't know what you know, and have not experienced what you have"

I always tell this to my kids, about the president, especially my oldest who for the last three and a half years, (after embarking on highschool) has done nothing but ripped the man appart.

Re: Dear Mr. Bush,
Yeah, I think it does not matter who you voted for or what political party you belong to, you should always respect the President. People are so quick to side with the popular media or opinion that they don't look at the fact themselves or try to put themselves in the President's shoes.

Thanks,

Re: Dear Mr. Bush,
Why should Americans automatically respect the president? The president needs to show respect for Americans, the Constitution and the laws of the land. If he doesn't do that then the president deserves no respect.

Re: Dear Mr. Bush,
I believe that although you do not always agree with his decisions, the man in the position of President always deserves respect.

You are no doubt, entitles to that opinion. I won't attack you for believing different than me. Thanks for the contrasting view point.

Re: Dear Mr. Bush,
Therein lies the error of your logic...

No man (or woman) can demand or deserve respect.

Respect is something that must be earned!

Remember, the President is a Servant/employee of "We The People"!!

Re: Dear Mr. Bush,
That is your opinion, and thanks for sharing it. Not everyone is going to agree with me, and that is ok.

Re: Dear Mr. Bush,
ME TOO!! This was excellent, in love and supportive of our president. We are supposed to respect them, hold them accountable-yes-but above all -pray for them.

Well said.

Re: Dear Mr. Bush,
I haven't always agreed with him, either.

I don't thank him for his belief in Jesus or anything.

But I do sympathize with having to make very difficult decisions. He doesn't seem like an evil man, and he didn't bring the 3rd war, so that's something to be thankful for.

I guess we can only hope for the future, and that it gets better.
