The Chakra System
The chakras can't be seen with the physical eyes, x-rays, MRIs or radio scans. But it can be seen and felt from a pyshic perspective through meditation, or by a spiritual healer. As with all energy, each center contains the 3 basic characteristics of movement (speed), vibration (sound) and color. Each vortex carries a special energy level that causes the chakra to spin at varying speeds, which generates a unique sound and generates a unique color to that particular vortex. Most of the chakras spin in a clockwise direction. The slowest movement of spin is at the Root chakra. As you move up the body toward the head, the chakra centers begin to spin faster. The only centers that spin in a counter-clockwise motion are the Pancreas/Spleen chakras, primarily because of their position within the body. Where as all the other chakras face forward like a round clock, the Pancreas/Spleen sit sideways in the body, almost like a bar-bell. The movement of each chakra gives the center a unique energy pattern that provides a focus or purpose within the body. For instance, when you are working on issues of choice (or will), you're working with the Thyroid chakra. When you working on matters of transformation within your life, you're working on the Solar Plexus chakra. The following is a description of the chakras from a Tibetan perspective, their placement, color and function. By understanding any chakra system you can focus energy within your being to areas that need assistance, healing or that you feel you'd like to improve or work on. Pineal (Crown, 1st vortex) Located at the top of the head. Also known as the "crown chakra" it represents the beginning. This is a person's connection to the cosmic consciousness and their conscious connection to their super conscious or Divine Self mind. The fastest spinning center, this chakra vibrates the brightest light. The color that most describes this energy level is pure white. Pituitary (2nd vortex) Located between the brows, in the center of the forehead. Also known as the location of the "third eye", this chakra is considered to be the gateway to the higher self. It reflects the oneness of the individual spirit with the oneness of the Universal Divine Spirit. This is also where you receive spiritual communications through vision or ethereal sight. This is where you "see" from a psychic perspective, much like the solar plexus "feels" from a psychic perspective. This chakra vibrates with a violet glow. Thyroid (3rd vortex) Located in the throat. This chakra represents the Will center or the center of choice. It is the coming together of the higher and lower chakras creating the sound of choice, what you say or want to say, whither it's vocalized or not. It is the source where spiritual will blends with physical choices. This chakra vibrates with a blue glow. Thymus (4th vortex) Located in the center of the chest, next to the heart. Also called the heart chakra, it synthesizes the spiritual and physical natures in harmony, love and compassion. This is the center of unconditional love both internal to the individual person and external to others and situations that occur in ones life. It is considered to be the center of Divine love or creation/expression of Divine love. This chakra vibrates with a green glow. Solar Plexus (5th vortex) Located where the rib cage meets at the bottom. It represents the creative center, where transition takes form and shape. This center fosters the co-creation with the soul and helps the physical body manifest issues, situations and so on. It works with the pituitary chakra to receive ethereal information and process it on a conscious level. Where the pituitary "sees" ethereal energy, the solar plexus "feels" ethereal energy. This could be the source of the saying "gut feelings". This chakra vibrates with a bright yellow glow. Adrenals (6th vortex) Located just a little up and behind the solar plexus. This chakra represents the protection center. This is where the body holds onto the karmic lessons for this lifetime. It links the spiritual blueprint to the physical embodiment. This center vibrates with a yellow glow, surrounded with a green border. Pancreas (7th vortex) Located below and to the right of the solar plexus, the Pancreas chakra governs how we honor our physical kingdom. It helps us to maintain our physical nature in balance with our spiritual natures. Helping to ensure we are caring for both to live as a balanced healthy 'whole' individual. This center vibrates with an orange glow, much like the color of a pumpkin. Spleen (8th vortex) Located below and to the left of the solar plexus, the Spleen chakra is the rejuvenation center. It helps the spiritual body heal itself after a karmic lesson has been successfully resolved, or when too much energy is put out to others or to a situation. Like the Pancreas center, this chakra vibrates with a pumpkin color. Root (9th vortex) Located at the base of the spine, at the cervix. The last and slowest spinning chakra this center governs security and the grounding of ones energies. This is the security of the soul in this embodiment for guarantee of physical health, well-being and survival. When the Kundilini energy first opens the spiritual body, it begins here at the base of the chakra system in the Root center. Because this center is located within the area of the reproductive organs, Tibetan schools teach that kundilini energy will not fully begin to flow until these organs are fully developed and functional. In other words, this energy begins to flow and open other charka centers at the time of puberty. The upper chakras (from the solar plexus up) are the perennial chakras that progress through each physical embodiment. These energy centers hold the memories, the talents and the past knowledge of all previous incarnated lifetimes of a person. Carrying those memories and talents out of one lifetime and into another for continued work. The lower chakras are the annual energy centers. These chakras are re-created anew with each embodiment. Because our Chakra System is the physical manifestation of the soul in the body, it is also part of our connection to the Divine. The Chakra centers are also divided into 7 levels of spiritual energy. These energy levels help to connect us to the greater structure of the Divine Universe, or what many would term as the Spiritual Realms. |
