*gasp* Bring out the smelling salts!  John McCain may or may not have had an affair!

So far there is no real proof of this and I am sick and tired of the issue of where a candidate puts or does not put his penis being called to question when it comes to running the country. So instead of focusing on his platform and the issues, he's got to face allegations about screwing a lobbyist.

The media is trying to make it look like he could have been influenced to cater to whatever special interest group(s) she represents, but let's be honest the real scandal is the alleged affair. In this country we just love a juicy sex scandal.  Who will ever forget the blow job heard all around the world?

Don't get me wrong, I am no McCain supporter. I'm one of those mentally disturbed liberals. Yet some how in my madness there is clarity. It's this crazy liberal attitude of mine that causes me to believe these allegations detract from the real concerns of the American people that are addressed in these primaries. This is too important of an election year to be concerned about McCain's penis.  I'm not supporting him because I don't agree with his views on the war in Iraq not because he may or may not have had an affair.

Can't I not vote for him because of both reasons?! =) As you can tell, I am a sucker for payback! =P

By the way, you & I get along exactly as I thought we would. It was a fun conversation last night!

Yeah it was fun! You are fun to talk to.

I'm for exposing any scandal that would get most of these candidates off the board.

Re: Scandal Schmandal
Sex scandals bore me. I mean if there was a scandal involving him molesting a child, then yeah -- that's something serious, but to make a big deal out of something 54% of men are doing or have done in the past? Puhleez.

Re: Scandal Schmandal
Doesn't make it right.  If a man can't be faithful to his wife first, don't you think he might be less than faithful in carrying out other duties as pertaining to country?

Honesty, loyalty, commitment and honor.  An affair ruins each of those traits in a man.

Re: Scandal Schmandal
How about in a woman?  If a female candidate is sleeping around, does it reflect equally as bad?

Re: Scandal Schmandal
Why wouldn't it?  Equality, right?

Just checking, because you specified "traits in a man."

Only because the topic started off by talking about McCain.

Whose definition of faithful are we using here?  Is it having a long-term affair? Sexual intercourse? Some trysts and blowjobs? A drunken kiss at an office party? Phonesex? Watching pornography without one's spouse's knowledge?  The point here is that the definition and the issue itself is really is not a matter for the rest of the world outside that relationship. And I don't think we should use it as a yardstick to measure competency in the White House.

Here, here. Bravo, and all that. In other words; I agree with Shiny!

But I still don't like McCain

Re: Scandal Schmandal
Bwahahahaha! You've got to be kidding me.  What does one have to do with the other? Do you think every man who has run a tight ship or a had a successful business or have been a good president has been a good husband? Do you think every man who's been a good husband has been a successful leader?  Leading your family is one thing. Leading your country is an entirely different ballgame. Whether or not McCain had an affair, this man had loyalty to this country even when he was in a POW camp.

I'd never say having an affair is okay or right, but I will say that equating a faithful husband with a good leader is simplistic.  As far as we know George W. Bush is faithful to Laura Bush.

So what it comes down to is: Some great leaders can be horrible family people, and some great family people cen be terrible leaders =)

Re: Scandal Schmandal
I guess it depends on who he is sticking it to Could it conflict with his duties? I still haven't looked into the details, because as far as I'm seen over my lifetime, we're the ones the Republicans are usually sticking it to.

Re: Scandal Schmandal
If it was sexual abuse of a child that would be one thing  but it might be a republican and a lobyist. Two people who are payed to screw things up screwing each other,

In math that is a double negative which makes a positive

No victims.

His being a republican is far more of a sin.
