• Last night  for the second night in a row I was knocked out by 11:00! It was great. Poor Environgirl called me about three times and though I heard the phone, the power of Morpheus' embrace was too strong.  Finally I gruffly answered the phone and she was shocked. "I can't believe that you're actually asleep!" she exclaimed.  Heck, I couldn't believe it either. I totally believe that dreamcatcher is working! LOL! When I woke up this morning I was still groggy. I asked my husband to make some coffee and he made a pot strong enough to strip paint! It was even to strong for severe a caffeine addict like me.  I told him that he could no longer deny his Cajun heritage. The last time I drank coffee that strong I was in Lake Charles, Louisiana. (My husband is from Port Arthur, TX which is about 28 miles from Louisiana)

  •  I realize my summer vacation is coming to a close.  I am very reluctant to return to work. This year will be different because I will also be going back to school to get my masters.  As soon as I leave work, I will be headed toward the campus. God give me the strength to make it through!

  • I've decided to write and post some personal memoirs on my blog.  I feel I want to do this before the school year starts. I'll try to have the first installment up later today or tomorrow.

  • On a kinda creepy note, I've been listening to my subliminal weight loss CD again.  I had it before and it worked great, but I lost it on a trip so I had to buy another one.  I played it last night to help me fall asleep (it has the sound of the ocean waves and a whale's song in the background) and right when I got into that state of relaxation when you're sure your going to fall asleep I heard talking.  I was pissed because I just knew my husband had the t.v. up too loud. I was going to let him have it until I realized the television was turned off.  I kept hearing something that sounded like someone talking. I finally realized it was coming from my computer speakers -- the same speakers emitting the sounds from my CD.  I was actually hearing the subliminal suggestions!  How often does that happen?  Sandyquill , do you know? Does anyone know? *cue music from the Twilight Zone*

Hey! I like my coffee strong too, but I hear that Cajun coffee will take the enamel off your teeth!

I have no answers about the subliminal messages though, sorry! Sounds scary to me... damn Bill Gates (unless you have a mac that is!)

Re: Rambling Updates
LOL! It was like liquid crack!

Isn't that subliminal thing creepy? I mean I heard like 1% of the population could pick up subliminal messages, but they are some kinda genius braniacs or something.  I'm brilliant, but not that brilliant. Geez.

Damn Bill Gates is right and for the record users are gay! (just kidding, my husband uses a Mac)

Re: Rambling Updates
LOL!

Isn't it just creepy? It amazes me, and of course, I've never had any messages like that, I'm not that brilliant in the slightest, but maybe someone is trying to tell you that YOU ARE that brilliant! You are part of the 1% (Matt now bows to your superiority!)

I've never had a Mac. I've a few too many Big Macs, but never the electronic kind... I wouldn't know where to start wth one, but they are a lot prettier than PCs - oops - that was my feminine side coming out!
myclette on
Re: Rambling Updates
Macs are quite pretty indeed. Lots of pretty colors, however they don't provide the same fun or challege that PC's provide.  I mean, you never have to upload patches to work out program bugs with a Mac.  I wouldn't know how to act if I didn't have to run my Adware program once a week.  LOL! Macs are for candy-asses.

Re: Rambling Updates
Exactly! I wouldn't know the first thing about using a mac, I mean, what are computers if they don't crash or lock up every 20 minutes? I mean, who really wants to write a five page assignment and actually save it before the system locks up and you have to go through those 15 minutes praying to the computer that you actually saved it! LOL

I can imagine what type of relationship you have with your husband - you've called him gay and a Candy-Ass now.....! What a fun marriage you must have - and so you should! Seriousness is overrated!

Re: Rambling Updates
Indeed. It would scare the crap out of him if I were nice to him.  He'd be afraid to eat or he'd sleep with one eye open.

Ahh, the age old saying - 'Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen'!

I'm sure as long as you are not a mutation of Lorena Bobbit, he sleeps soundly at night!

Re: Rambling Updates
Oh dear lord no. If I do what she did, there would be no reason to keep him around at all!

Re: Rambling Updates
LOL!!!!!!

I should have expected a reply like that! My girlfriend would say the same too, so that's why I sleep like a baby!

Re: Rambling Updates
Hehe! Oh yes, she's amazing - she blogs on here too, sifa She's really approachable and really an awesome person with trong values. If you want to check out her blog, she'll be happy that you stopped by, as will I if you wanted to stop by and offer me a shout of two sometime!

Which leads me to ask.... would you mind if I subscribed to your ramblings?

Re: Rambling Updates
Absolutely subcribe to my madness! LOL! I will definitely add you back. I will check out Sifa, too.

P.S.  That belly button thing isn't so bad. I have a thing for a man's hands. If I don't like his hands, I find it hard to enjoy them touching me.

Re: Rambling Updates
Thank you, I shall add you!

Also, thank you for reassuring me that my bellybutton thing isn't so bad - it's good to know you don't think I'm a freak!

I can understand what you say about hands, very true. My g/f loves my hands, even though I have one pinky finger missing, another completely messed up and although I take care of them, they're rough as a bears ass - but she say's they are man's hands! As long as she likes them, then I'm cool with it!

Re: Rambling Updates
Manly hands I like, it's men with girly hands that I can't stand. All soft and long fingered or small. Yuck!
drunkenglishman on
Re: Rambling Updates
Hehe... I have long fingers, but they say that's an advantage... (I have no idea who 'they' are though!) But I definately have manly hands!

Hey, there's no accounting for personal taste though - I know that!

Re: Rambling Updates
I have never done a subliminal anything, so i couldn't say. I think it is worry that I would hear voices that has kept me from ever trying one.

Yay for sleep!!!!!

Working on your masters will be very rewarding, if exhausting. I hope you're not planning a full course load this term?
myclette on
Re: Rambling Updates
No, I'm not planning a full course load. I never had the fortitude to work and go to school full-time, not even when I got my bachelors.  I'm a bit flighty if you haven't noticed.

Re: Rambling Updates

Re: Rambling Updates
Woohoo! That's great that you got some sleep!

Weird about the subliminal cd...must have something to do with the speaker hookup. Have you tried playing the CD on a different player, like a discman or boombox or something, to see if you can still hear the supposedly subliminal voices?

myclette on
Re: Rambling Updates
Well I usually play it on my computer or a discman. This is the first time I actually heard the messages.  It was muffled and low, but I definitely heard talking. I know I have freakishly good hearing, but this is ridiculous. The only think I can think of is that I was in such a relaxed state that I was picking up the actual suggestions.

Re: Rambling Updates
Heh heh, that is strange! No idea now! I remember I had this insomnia subliminal help tape years ago and it had a couple of different tracks to choose from...there was one track where the guy's talking was buried under the music/ocean wave noise, but there was also a track where you actually could hear the guy talking, and it was deliberate. But if your CD had more than one option/track I'm sure you would've figured it out by now!

Re: Rambling Updates
My mom had one like that for weight loss. One side was for hypnosis and the other one had subliminal suggestions.  I like the subliminal ones because my mind is too stubborn to be open to the suggestions I can actually hear in a hypnosis session.
