My lithium crystal finally got here!  While it isn't the most beautiful rock in my collection, it is certainly one of the most interesting.

Lithium is the chemical element with symbol Li and atomic number 3. In the periodic table, it is located in group 1, among the alkali metals. Lithium in its pure form is a soft, silver white metal, that tarnishes and oxidizes very rapidly in air and water. It is the lightest solid element and is primarily used in heat transfer alloys, in batteries and serves as a component in some drugs known as mood stabilizers.
Lithium Quartz is a super high energy healing and balancing stone. It is said to be self-clearing and self-cleansing, and from my experience with it, I'd say that's correct.

Lithium quartz sends and receives energy as well as storing it. Lithium quartz is balancing and calming, and is used in crystal healing as a natural anti-depressant. Emotionally and other ways, lithium quartz is said to relieve stress, anxiety, and tension, bringing relaxation and peace. It works in a gentle and slow but steady and powerful manner, not causing the discomfort of sudden change that some crystals might at times.

Lithium quartz is excellent for meditaiton and prayer. It is used to heal repressed grief and anger, as well as emotional issues from past lives. It is also said to purify water. Physically, lithium quartz is used in crystal healing for stress related disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, muscular tension, repetitive motion injuries. Lithium quartz is related to activating and balancing all chakras and is handy to work with any individual chakra also.

Re: New Addition to my Collection
It is very pretty!  I got a small moonstone in a setting for a pendant, from my cousin for Christmas.  She didn't put in a chain or some cord or anything to put it on....so I have to find something nice so I can start wearing it.  While I don't remember its significance she thought it would be nice for me and the path I'm going on for a career.  I'm not sure if I'm just crystal stupid or what, but I don't understand more than "it's so pretty", LOL.

Moonstone is the perfect stone for those getting into helping professions. My sister is a nurse and I gave her a set of moonstone jewelry. It helps increase intuition and it also helps people keep in touch with their motherly, feminine side. If you are prone to bad PMS, don't wear it on those days, because once again, it keeps you in touch with your feminine side and your feminine emotions.

Good to know - no moonstone during that time of month!  Extra feminine emotions would be a Very Bad Thing!

Indeed! I found out the hard way. I had to take the necklace off!

I think I'll make it a project this week.  We've got sub-zero temps outside, plenty of indoor entertainment and projects are needed to fill up the lonely times.

No shit! I wouldn't know how to deal with sub zero temperatures. I'm complaining about cold rainy temps in the 30's. Sheesh!

Re: New Addition to my Collection
30 degree temps would be like a heat wave up here right now.  I think my best environment would be somewhere tropical -- not too warm or too cold, just right.  I am used to the cold weather, just not sub zero weather with the sun shining right down on the snow enough to blind you.  I hate gearing up for the weather, too.  I feel like the Staypuft marshmellow man everytime I layer up to keep the cold from hurting my skin!

LOL @ the Staypuft Marshmallow Man! LOL!

People think we're cold weather wimps, but the fact of the matter is if you live in an environment that sees 90 degree temps and over at least 7 months out of the year and pleasant 80 - 70 degree temps 3 months out of the year, 30 degrees is a big shock to the system.

I'm about to post some pix of me bundled up!

I know what you mean, but from the opposite end.  Whenever I'm in a warmer environment, it gets too hot for me.  I don't feel "cool" until it's at least 50 out, anything more than 60 degrees out and it can get too much for me.  I guess I don't like to sweat!  I have other friends from the south and west who swear they don't miss Wisconsin cold at all and they dance in the heat, but not for me.  I can't imagine a December or even a March that's more than 50 degrees out!

Re: New Addition to my Collection
Thanks! It's funny how you refer to them as friends. I talk to my rocks all the time. They actually have distinct personalities. LOL! If people can talk to their plants, I can talk to my rocks right?

Re: New Addition to my Collection
I talk to everything, just in case it might be able to hear me, really, you can always see me muttering around all the time, just talking out loud to hear what I might be thinking!LOL .
