I already ban myself from her ballet rehearsals. I sit and talk to the other mothers while she's in ballet class.
For dance team they have two days of dance clinic where they learn the routine and then they have tryouts on Monday. I'm not going to watch her in clinic either! I keep thinking that I should just in case she can't remember the routine and needs to practice, but then again that's just opening up a can of worms. *slaps hand* Bad Mommy!
The routines are usually cheesy jazz / hip hop routines that are very simple.

Being married to someone who is exactly like your daughter in this way...I know how you feel. He doesn't get riled up about anything, while i'm on the sidelines screaming WHAT IN THE FUUUUUUUUCK ARE YOU DOING!? COME ON! looooool It's the mother in me coming out. If anyone criticizes him, they're going to pay! No one gets to do that but me. 
Plus, when I do something, I give it all i've got and take it VERY seriously. I don't know how to have fun with certain things because dammit i'm working hard to accomplish something, work isnt sposed to be fun! LOL

I don't know where I got my competitive spirit from, but I swear I love crushing my opponents. I was almost always first chair in band, then I was drum major, choir section leader, etc. I was a power hungry biyotch!

Good luck to the kiddo! I am sure it is very hard not to be overprotective. But I think the kiddo will do fine!
