I know I promised you that Mullows was on a leave of absence while writing for BookSay  (plus he’s on timeout.  Hey, get back in the corner, young man!), but I had to pop in for a moment to mention the uproar over the Muslim comics.

Okay, extremist Muslims of the world.   Not you normal Muslims who live entirely normal lives and practice the wonderful religion of Islam the way it is supposed to be practiced, but you crazyheads who are acting out against the negative anti-Muslim comics that have been floating around.  Can you answer me a few questions?

If you are upset because comics are showing you acting violent and irrational, then why are you responding to the comics by acting violent and irrational?

Yes, the comics are offensive and feed into negative stereotypes, so did you ever think that maybe, just maybe, you shouldn’t then feed into the exact stereotype those comics are portraying?  Your current actions are the reason those comics exist!

How about proving those comics wrong?  How about calmly and peacefully declaring that you are offended, and that we, as an accepting culture, should accept your culture?

No, go burn stuff.  Go maim and kill.  Go do exactly what those comics portray you as doing.  Go create new images that will find their way into new comics.  That’s definitely the right move.

And news shows – instead of constantly showing us repetitive footage of these extremist Muslims acting this way, can’t you just say:

“And for an update on the Muslim world, we go to our world correspondent, Walter Cunningsmith.  Walter?”

“Thanks, Bob.  Well, the Muslims are still crazy.  And now the weather.”

Ah, it's always good to be compared to Family Guy.  That means you've either said something really funny or really offensive, but either way you win.

Mo' Hammad Mo' Problems, heh...I'm a Daily Show fan too.
And the silliest thing about this is that the cartoon was first printed back in September of last year. What took the Angry Islam contingent so long to get riled up?

They don't have quick access to multi-media things.  Last year's news is fresh for them.

Okay, that was wrong.  I apologize.  And yes, I think MindSay needs more Daily Show.  Or at least more people ripping off the Daily Show for their own benefit.

Look at the latest fashion rage all the teens are wearing in the Islam nation.

You know who also wore headbands with writing on them?

That's right former bears quaterback Jim McMahon.  Coincidence?  I think Not

Everybody knows that Jim McMahon has been linked to world terrorism.  Lets just take a look of what he said during his part in the song "Superbowl Shuffle"

"I'm the punky QB, known as McMahon.
When I hit the turf, I've got no plan.
I just throw my body all over the field.
I can't dance, but I can throw the pill.
I motivate the cats, I like to tease.
I play so cool, I aim to please.
That's why you all got here on the double
To catch me doin' the Super Bowl Shuffle."

Clearly what he is saying is   "I hate Jews, Die Jews Die"

We must rid the world of terrorism. We must rid the World of Jim McMahon bin ladens.  Together we can accomplish this.  together we can win.

Re: Mo' Hammad Mo' Problems
Excellent article.  Very well written.

And, I 'd just like to point out that my post points out that not all Muslims are doing this.  My questions were posed to the select Muslims who are acting out.  The crazyheads, as I refer to them.

I have not heard of any Jews lighting things on fire in response to the Holocaust comics.  If I did, I would accuse them of being in the wrong as well.  Actually, more accurately, if they all laid around dead while a giant in a Nazi uniform stomped on them, or if the body of Hitler was laid in bed next to the body of Anne Frank, thereby making the comics a reality like the extremist Muslims are doing, then I would accuse them of being wrong as well.

And while speaking of wrong, your article mentions, We are against laws oppressing any form of expression no matter how appalling it is."  They forgot to mention, "But we looooove the laws that make it okay for a man to beat a woman to death because she looked him in the eyes while passing each other on the street."

Re: Mo' Hammad Mo' Problems
Erh... From my study of religion, there is no such thing. I don't think ANYBODY of the general public realizes the status of women in Islam. They're not meant to treat them like rubbish. That's more of a ural heritage than religious tradition.
Also, I'd like to point out one little thing - loved Anne, everyone knows that.
*Shurgs* And besides, you should realize that if there are 72 (or 79, I'm drawing at a mental blank here) Christian sects, won't you think the same of Islam? Yes, I'm saying or actually rather proving to you that you can't say all the hostility is from all sects. To some Islamic sects, they consider other sects in the religion as total heresy and reguard them as hypocrites, etc. etc. You really have to look into a topic further before you can speak about it. But you're in hot water now. You're diving further, ignoring the fact you can't swim. I study religions and I really don't get why people just won't keep their mouth shut if they don't know exactly how to back themselves up.

Re: Mo' Hammad Mo' Problems
I had multiple college classes on Judaism and Islam and know all about the other sects and how some Muslims condemn the actions and beliefs of other Muslims.

My reference was more to the politics of things than the religion of it.  A year or so ago a woman was crossing the street and looked a man in the eyes and he began beating her.  When other men saw this, they joined in on the beating.  She died, and none of the men were arrested.

A few months later, a man was caught cheating on his wife.  Nothing happened to the man.  The cheating woman was stoned to death.

In both instances, I am not appalled at the religion or lack of religion involved.  To me, religion is irrelevant in that situation.  I am ashamed of the law system that allows this to happen.

Now, people always group Muslim religion with Arab politics, whether it makes sense to or not, which is why you get ads like the one dipicting Muhammad with a bomb as a turban.

Re: Mo' Hammad Mo' Problems
I can't help but wonder, when I read your exchange with bassistx, why, if all muslim sects are not in agreement with the violence of the extremists, do they not more actively vocalize that opposition? Do they have no anger against the apparent fact that their religion is being given a bad name by the extremists? Why do you think we never see bands of outraged muslim citizens ( NOT the "crazyheads") holding rallys and protests to decry the actions of the extremists in their own religion if it is so offensive and abberant to them? Don't get me wrong, I am not advocating the majority of muslims to answer violence with violence. However, I do wonder why, when you do hear from a non - extremist muslim on the news discussing the evils of extremeism, there is always a " but I can understand their anger" clause added on to it. I've made friends with several muslims, partly because I want to learn for myself what the enmity is all about. To be honest, it has become a topic that we do not often discuss in our this - and - that conversations. They want to know about my way of life more than my political views. I, too, believe that the majority of muslims are not violent extremists, but nor do they have any qualms for their general anger towards the west. It is interesting to me, however, how many are fascinated by our culture ( but cannot resist lecturing me on the choices I make as benefitting those living in a culture based on freedom of choice). One comment about the women. My muslim friends say that they " respect and revere" women. That may be true, as long as the women remain within the confines of the rules and laws. It is not for me to try to judge another culture, and I am careful to point out that one is no more righteous than the other. They are merely different. But I find it amusing how interested in aspects of western culture they are. For example, I was tellin one friend how I go swimming weekly and he was intrigued by the notion that I, being a woman, can swim in mixed company with men. Another thing that they just cannot understand is that I am willingly single, happy about it and perfectly capable of taking care of myself. I'm learning about them, too. I admire their dedication to family. These things may be trivial, but in my own perhaps small way, I am trying to be a bit of a diplomat.. trying to demonstrate through pleasant exchange that many things they hear about Americans simply are not true.. or at least exaggerated.

Re: Mo' Hammad Mo' Problems
Obviously the majority of Muslims are not violent extremists.  There are over a billion Muslims in the world.  The problem is that in many Muslim societies, children have been raised to view Americans as evil.  To them, we are infidels.  So, if they kill us, they are not killing human beings that are just like themselves, they are killing lesser beings.  It's just like killing an animal, or maybe even an insect.  We are infidels.  We do not deserve life.  So it is not a big deal for them to take our life.  It wasn't worth anything anyway.

But that is not the view of all Muslims.  The religion is founded on peace, and most Muslims abide by that peaceful notion.  Most believe that murdering any human is wrong.  It's just that the news doesn't talk about them.
