This is a clip from a short-lived TV show called "The Morton Downey Jr. Show." Downey pioneered what's called "trash media," paving the way for the likes of Rush Limbaugh and Jerry Springer. Just remember, every time you find yourself shouting at Bill O'Reilly or Sean Hannity on Fox News, this is the guy who's responsible. Thankfully, we had enough sense in the late 80's to ignore moronic blowhards like these guys, and let them fade into oblivion. Downey destroyed the intelligent debate, often resorting to name-calling, out-shouting, and sometimes even physical attacks on his guests. This man barely deserves the title of human being, as he seemed to think a successful argument consisted of not rational though, but ape-like screaming. All that was missing from his program was feces-tossing.

I find this video disturbing not because of what Ron Paul says, but the analogy he made of the government forcibly putting the overweight audience member "on a diet."  Obviously, the analogy was meant to point out the ridiculousness of the drug war.

What's disturbing is the fact that now government-enforced dieting is beginning to become a reality.  New York City has banned trans fats in restaurants.  Mississippi has passed laws the limit the amount of food an overweight person can order at a restaurant.  Doesn't it scare you at least a little bit that an example of government meddling that was considered too extreme to come true just 20 years ago is now, in fact, a reality?

Wow...I have to admit that I couldn't understand everything on this clip, but what I did understand was disturbing.

I enjoy it as a brilliant moment in comedy. It's a classic!
