Oh to be so close to The Source. What an honor.
I knew you were sad...I didn't want to intrude by asking why.
"In the ugly mask of tragedy he made of his mouth and lips I recognized an ancient and familiar look of fear and pain" -
This makes me think of how dependent and interdependent we are (from the very beginning) for that basic life-sustaining need and when our field of sensory perception is devoid of its active presence, our natural response is "fear and pain"....fear of abandonment and the pain of being totally alone...just thinking...

...not that I want you to be sad but this is so poignant...so full...I thought of you...

Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Funeral Blues
by
W. H. Auden
Stop all the clocks, cut off the telephone,
Prevent the dog from barking with a juicy bone,
Silence the pianos and with muffled drum
Bring out the coffin, let the mourners come.
Let aeroplanes circle moaning overhead
Scribbling on the sky the message He Is Dead,
Put crêpe bows round the white necks of the public
doves,
Let the traffic policemen wear black cotton gloves.
He was my North, my South, my East and West,
My working week and my Sunday rest,
My noon, my midnight, my talk, my song;
I thought that love would last for ever: I was wrong.
The stars are not wanted now: put out every one;
Pack up the moon and dismantle the sun;
Pour away the ocean and sweep up the wood.
For nothing now can ever come to any good.
Thanks, Eddie, and I'm really glad I've gotten to know you, too. "Sentient beings are numberless; we vow to enlighten them all."
