Probably because you didn't edit the entry in HTML mode. Before starting your entry click the <html> button - then the whole entry needs to be formatted as if it's a web page including <P> and <BR> tags.
If you made a mistake, don't panic. Just go back to the blog's "edit entry" and open it up again. Mindsay will automatically reformat the entry as HTML. Save it, and the link should now work.

Unfortunately, you can't go back and edit a comment on someone's blog so if you're going to use HTML in a Reply, make sure you click the <HTML> button *before* you hit Reply!
I don't understand! What tags have to be around a URL for it to be recognized as a link? Any?
