yeah i know it doesn't make sense. but thanks to NHL officials having almighty power and an embarrassing refusal to use instant replay... the second goal scored in the last 1 minute and 4 seconds of the third period was simply ignored.
EVERYBODY in Detroit, Anaheim, and for that matter the rest of the world knows the goal should have counted.
How does one referee who wasn't even in position to see anything have so much power.
Why isn't replay not only an option but especially in the last 2 minutes a NECESSITY. Seroiusly? nobody would complain...
The goal was scored even before the ref blew the wistle. but why does he need to be so quick? and dont give me that "oh its to protect the goalie crap" the goalie has about 3 inches of protection already.
Rules need to be changed. Even if the ref blows the whistle a review should be an option in a crucial period of the game as it was, and even if the official does blow the whistle before the goal is scored, the press box should be able to overturn his ruling if there is substantial INDISPUTABLE evidence that suggests the goalie did not have control of the puck, in which case it would undoubtedly have been ruled a goal.
Point Spoken.
