
I was excited to see that you were happy about speaking to your dad and grandma! Reconnecting with family should be meaningful....
Then I read I damn well better get mine when the day comes around and I wondered if it was, instead, the prospect of money that made you happy. If so, the whole situation seems less celebratory. Perhaps I misread, but that's how it sounded to me.
When my dad died, his calculating wife made sure she chose two gifts I had given him to return to me... there was never a mention of a will. I have not heard from her, nor do I want to, since the funeral. I am far happier with it that way... the whole greed issue is just ugly, unhealthy. . . . a malignancy. Just be careful how you let it influence you....
I'm sure your grandma misses getting to know you... hopefully you will get to spend some quality time with her.
