Y’know, I’m fat, and middle-aged, and I never could ice skate. I couldn’t play hockey to save my own life, if it required me to do anything other than stand in one spot and try not to fall down.

But if you put me out on the ice to face the Red Wings--just me; not me with four other guys and a goalie, just me--I would score at least as many goals as the entire Penguins team in the last two games. At least as many goals.

At least.

Does this mean I could whip your ass in hockey?

If you can actually ice skate, absolutely.  Just be kind and don't check me, or we'll have a "he's fallen and he can't get up" situation.

Re: Stanley Cup Finals--Game 2
I've been ice skating only twice and my life. Both times I was grabbing on to the wall or the nearest person with all of my might.

Unlike the Pens and the Wings, we might be pretty evenly matched.

Quit trying to turn me on.

Could you identify which part of that might turn you on...I mean, so I know....

You figure it out.  That's the fun part.

As should be obvious by now, I figure such things out about as well as the Penguins are playing right now.

You're kind of stuck on yourself, aren't you? Next time why don't you try a little modesty. Jeesh =)

You're kind of stuck on yourself, aren't you?

It was just an accident with a caulking gun...never go to the bathroom right after using those things....

Wow, gives new meaning to having that "not so fresh feeling" =)

Re: Stanley Cup Finals--Game 2
so are you trying to say the penguins are playing badly? because i disagree completely.Crosby and Malkin are great players, who just happened to be matched up against a team with far more depth and experience. and even so they are getting scoring chances, and simply getting shut down by the outstanding  play of Chris Osgood. [who by the way has only lost  2 games the entire  playoffs]

with that said there is still no point in you saying at least. you said yourself you can hardly skate. Ive been skating for my whole life, and played several years of ice hockey, and yet i still doubt i could score more than one out of 10 shots against an NHL goalie. even without the best defensive players in the world protecting him.

In all honesty i am a red wings fan and i dont see this series lasting more than 5 games, however i dont blame the pitsburgh penguins, as it is clear they have not given up, they are simply outmatched.

Re: Stanley Cup Finals--Game 2
I can't skate at all.  Nevertheless, I myself could score at least zero goals, which is all the Pens have done.  At this rate what we'll have will be a four-game snoozer.

Whether they give up or not is irrelevant if they don't come back and win--in pro sports there is one champion and a bunch of losers.  Some of the losers may be better than some of the other losers, but they're still all losers.
