This road trip against Philly and then the Mets, keeps us working for the Wild Card spot. As a Cub fan we just keep cheering them on, always hopeful, until the last out of the last game of the season.
HOUSTON ASTROS BABY!!!
Ed Wade hasn't made many successful trades or any trades, so maybe not doing anything is probably the best thing for the Phillies. FLA never pulled the trigger on the AJ Burnett offers and ATL didn't do much either except get an excellent middle relief pitcher (because Dan Kolb is horrible). The NL East is ATL division to lose and with their deep talent, they should be able to add another notch on their NL East domination. Maybe the Phillies management need to read Moneyball. OAK and their 2005 55mil salary seem to be doing quite well.
Just wondering if you've changed your mind any about the Phils potential at winning the wild card. While I understand good pitching is around in Clemens and Pettitte, they also need the run support and Houston has had some tough games obtaining that...especially for Clemens. I think Padilla will be a threat and hopefully Wagner can come through. Just curious about your thoughts now.
