Amity turned me down, so here is what NOT to do if you ever have an interview with them:
........
well, to be honest my personal interview went pretty well actually, but not perfect and I was digging myself out of a hole to begin with. so my advice is really just be way ahead of time for the initial group meeting. Also make a full checklist of all the items you need to bring and bring several copies of each.

I think the fact I was late to the initial meeting and didn't bring my "Why I Want to Live and Work in Japan" essay were what ended up damning me the most. I honestly think that if I was PERFECT in the personal interview I still had a really good chance to get the job, but I was normal to above average at best, so I think I understand the decision.

After feeling depressed and annoyed at the whole situation for about twenty minutes to a half an hour I had a snack and began work anew. Today I applied to NOVA and AEON. AEON is the parent company of Amity but they act as separate entities, meaning that if you are turned down for one of the positions you can still try for the other. I was really looking forward to working with kids, but realistically teaching adults probably is more my speed as I tend to use big words and difficult concepts often. Maybe this is all for the best and its just fate working in breathtakingly irritating ways. Guess I'll have to wait and see. Here's keeping my fingers crossed about the next set of interviews.

Round two, here I come.
