Well.. The one thing that I havent done for a long time is attend a Fashion Event.
Tonight I managed to bring an end to that drought.
I attended the Rohit Bal show that marked the end of the India Couture Week at the Grand Hyatt (?).
And to my surprise and utter ignorance of fashion (beyond buying what looks good to me in 15 seconds), I actually enjoyed the show.
The Clothes were wearable... well at Costume parties atleast.
The designs were something you would want to look at for the sake of entertainment which is what the Fashion Industry is nowdays.
Most of the Female Models were either recognizable or pretty. Hence no problem about eye candy.
The 'socialite ladies' sitting on the other side of the ramp were also decked up and showed off thier legs in those colorful skirts.... which I didnt complain against ;-)
The music was ok... the sequences werent too long... and the overall fashion show didnt drag.
I had a girl with sparkling expressive eyes to give me company during the show. I guess that helped a bit too.
And I was wearing my Hugo Boss jacket that drew some eyeballs and made me feel good. It mustave helped.
I am not going to psychoanalyze as to what ratio which reason made me feel nice about myself.
All in all, a good experience.
I guess I wont be looking at Fashion with an upturned nose ....for now.
