This is interesting! I really don't eat chocolate that much but really enjoy it when I do! I have craved chocolate, but it is usually premenstrual time frame - that's when I'm the most fatigued. Hmmmm a bacteria.. huh? That's interesting about the amino acid, taurine... I suppose researching what foods raise taurine levels in the blood, is a possible key to more energy. People crave chocolate because it gives us a slight high, or energy rise. Ah ha... it is beginning to make sense. Pass the chocolates, would ya? Thanks
The slight high or energy rise is of course from the caffiene but, the craving for the taste of chocolate itself is a whole other ball game. I found this article very interesting. Glad you did also. Now, if they can correlate this research with the need for chocolate during PMS time!
hey, spice. I have a question. Do you eat yogurt? I noticed I eat less chocolate since I started eating yogurt regularly.
I don't know what flavors of yogurt Spice might like, but I like the chocolate kinds. lol
Really though, seems to me, that might be a valid question. Yogurt has all that good kind of bacteria.
Yes I do! Now this is getting more interesting... Shade,
I used to eat more chocolate, just because I 'wanted' it (or craved it). This past year, I receive freshly made yogurt weekly when I pick up my raw milk products from the Amish dairy farmer. They make their yogurt in such a way (lower heating process) making the consistency more liquidy, (almost like a kefir) -because there is more of the 'friendly' and more types of 'friendly' bacteria, the bacteria names are not coming to me at the moment; nonetheless, as I said above in my first post, I don't each much chocolate now since eating this delicious raw milk yogurt -I pass chocolate by often... hmmmm...

Now, that's got a nice 'ring' to it! I like it .. but I think it should read, 'Shade & Spice Report'
I don't think it will put a dent in the sales of it at all. There will always be those of us who want it no matter what the reason is.
Com'on Saik'...you're a farmer and i know you have seen lots worse stuff than this. Hope you read the whole article, not just the title lines.
Ahhh...I see. It wasn't the bug reference, it was the chocolate itself. Read the article you might find an interesting part referring to ppl like you.
I did read the article... BEFORE I replied actually...
Now I'm going to go kill time, because I'm bushed.
Now I'm going to go kill time, because I'm bushed.
I should have known that.
'Fess up though...were you one of the eleven 'weird' ppl referred to in the article.
'Fess up though...were you one of the eleven 'weird' ppl referred to in the article. Hope that ''killing time'' works for you. I don't see how you ever get rested up!
I haven't eaten much chocolate since I started eating yogurt. I wonder if the bug clmate change from the yogurt has something to do with it. I still crave cheeeeeeese, however.
"Past studies have shown that intestinal bacteria change when people lose weight"
If by eating yogurt you have lost weight, seems to be a good possibility.
Oops! Another theory bites the dust! lol
Do you eat the 'light' version. My nutristionist advises me to have two a day. I have actually lost thirteen pounds in the last three months. Yay!! Not all from eating yogurt obviously but, should be helping it.
Well shoot! No wonder you gained weight...you must eat other stuff to make up for that yucky kind. lol I know I would, or I'ed be 'doctoring' it up with sumpin!
sometimes I add fruit. sometimes I put crumbled crunchy granola on top. really good, actually. I've just never tried chocolate.

YVW. Yep! It was somewhat disgusting but I figured some of the ladies out there in MindSayland would find it as interesting as I did.
