Sandy Beach

That isn't about to happen. Not for a while anyway. After 2 days of snow, rain, sleet, freezing rain, snow, sleet, snow etc, (Not necessarily in that order) I decided it was about time to go out in the cold and clean up the mess yesterday. It wasn't all that bad even though the temperature was in the low 20's. Since I had not been out doing much recently it was probably time I did something constructive. "I guess I needed the freak. .in exer. .cise" *I mumbled somewhat loudly in my best Jack Nicholson imitation*. (Since you couldn't hear me just assume it was my best imitation). Besides, playing in the snow is fun.

I didn't want to bring my good camera outside with me so I used my cell phone camera to take a few pics. Since I have a Verizon cell phone I thought maybe I would be able to get some of the thousands of network assistants to help me out so I could finish faster. You know, the ones you see on the commercials for Verizon who follow the customer all over the place. I couldn't seem to find even one of them. I guess it was too cold out.

Since I realized I was on my own I decided to take one more pic and get busy cleaning up the mess.

The snow was basically powder on top but wet and icy underneath. Time to start digging.

While cleaning up the snow it just made me more aware of the mess of leaves that were still packed underneath.

It made me start to wonder if I should have left the snow there. At least it looked a bit nicer without all the leaves sticking out all over the place.

With most of the snow cleaned up it was time to clean up my snow clearing buddy, Mr. Snow Blower. Then park him back in the garage to be ready for the next Winter Wonderland Adventure.

More snow is on the way for tomorrow but probably not all that much. The next storm heading this way may bring more in the way of freezing rain towards the end of the weekend. Mr. Snow Blower won't be much help with that.

Have a safe, warm, comfortable and cozy evening.

it's amazing how pretty it is as it's falling, and when it's all just laying there, but as soon as you start moving it around into piles, it turns so dirty and ugly!  That's probably what makes that first snow so special!

Yes, then there is the end of winter snow when it stops coming down and the sides of the streets look all dirty, brown and gray with all the salt and dirt covering it.

Oh well, as much as we complain about it, we still enjoy it when we can.

Great job!

Oh.... I cannot wait until our first snow....

Your place is beautiful

Re: I'm Dreaming Of A White . . .
Thank you on both counts.

I don't mind the snow so much as long as the roads are mostly clear. It is kind of fascinating especially on a cold winter night sitting in front of a fire while the snow gently falls outside.

Sounds cozy.  Stay comfy and warm, Ed.

Seeing all the photo's around mindsay I'm dreaming of a white snowy landscape.

I've only been to the snow a couple of times and never stayed over-night so I probably wouldn't have thought to not take my good camera out.

Oh and cleaning it up, I never considered that either. Others have mentioned shovelling snow, but it would be a real back-breaker.

Me, I'm actually heading to the beach tomorrow no kidding.

I have taken my good camera out in the winter before, but not while I am working in it.

As far as cleaning it up, it can be good exercise if you are in good shape. If you want I could send you some so you can practice.

Have fun at the beach.

I actually have some snow in a jar from 1997 (well it's not snow anymore)

and years ago when a group of friends went and I couldn't go. They brought back a huge plastic tub of it so I could play

I had a great photo of me standing in it with my red sneakers and (at what was a time of more interesting hair) bright red hair. I'm looking through the photos on the computer but I can't find it. . .it's either lost forever in an upgrade where I forgot to backup or is from the days of film and is sitting in a box somewhere waiting to be albumed.

I guess you don't get too much snow (Down Under). You must be heading into spring (or is that summer) by now. That must be a bit unusual to have Christmas in the warmer season.

I guess even if I did send you some of my snow, by the time it got to you it would be just another jar of water.

Have a great evening and weekend.

Re: I'm Dreaming Of A White . . .
The High Country gets snow. . .but that's a very small percentage of this wide brown land and the season in short. The weirdest thing about Christmas here is that even though it averages around 40Cdegrees (104F) we still all have the traditional hot lunch. It's crazy.

Yes, it's summer now, though the heat hasn't really kicked in yet.

I'm hoping for some sleep and then we'll see what the weekend holds. My partner and I have been planning to go to the beach each weekend for the last few weeks and it's fallen through. . . I hope it doesn't tomorrow. We used to live a block from the beach and I miss dipping my toes.

Have a lovely day and all the best for your weekend as well.

Night . . .Umm Mornin'

I have a friend from Victoria on Myspace. She has been sending a lot of info from Australia. She or her parents had a place on the southern shore. I think they just sold it.

There is some very beautiful scenery there. I told her one day I might have to visit and she could be my tour guide.

I imagine it is now morning where you are now so I hope you have a great day especially if you go to the beach. Take care.

I'm originally from Vic. but live in New South Wales now. I've have travelled all over. I'd like to spend some more time in the desert and on the Great Barrier reef (best diving I've ever done anywhere in the world). So much to see. . .so little time.

Didn't make it to the beach (told ya) but there's always tomorrow. . .

Have a great day,

LB
