In the 60s one of my students from the inner city told me that whenever there was political unrest in the ghetto and people began organizing to plan protest and revolt there would suddenly and mysteriously be plenty of cheap, high-quality illicit drugs available on the street—marijuana, cocaine, heroin—and drug interdiction would cease, arrests would stop, and police and law enforcement would mysteriously disappear. The effect was instantaneous:
"The political meeting is at eight o'clock!"
"I got a bag! Let's get stoned instead."
"Yeah!"
My student felt certain all this was by design at the top, a strategy to deflate and defuse political protest and resistance by permitting the free sale and use of intoxicants and narcotics in the low income communities.

Very perceptive student...can't help but wonder if he eventually succumbed to the pressures brought to bear since the sixties!

I started to say that my student remained a political radical and did not do drugs but then I realized I didn't really know what became of him after that he graduated, so I deleted my text and meant to hit cancel but hit reply instead—a spasm. Your interpretation of my blank, though, was right on target.

Roman Emperors would allow a certain amount(x number of seats) of "poor people"(who probably wait all day in line) free seats at the Coliseum along with a loaf of bread each.

The last three paragraphs that you wrote in "The Land Of The Blind, The One Eyed Man Is King" is so "POWERFUL! Also the paragraph where you brought to light that the MANY have had their "SURVIVAL SENSES" dulled, by the "Constant drivel!
I especially found "enlightening" (and ever so true) that you can't teach people with no sense what would benefit society, for they have not the sense to hear you! (Those were not the exact words that you used, but certainly the essence of what you are saying) I need to remember this last part, and not be so disapointed as often, but just take it in stride. I keep trying to "change people's attitudes" but it is "IMPOSSIBLE" most of the time, for again, like you noted... Most people would rather appear "RIGHT" than "HONEST!" Still, for those "FEW" people out there, that "WILL" evolve, we "MUST SPEAK OUT" and then hopefully they will in turn "SPEAK OUT! EVOLUTION takes a long time.

I am really glad about that! Yes, I definitely feel a "true kinship" with you Harmony! You are the type of person that I can have a "real" conversation with, because you not only hear what others say, but think about their view with honest intent on finding truth, and then agree or disagree, giving your own view, with reason, rather than intensity on always being correct, and so we can "build on each others logic, on a continuum, "elevating our perceptions" as we explore the vast cosmos of "Truth!"
