Oh yeah, we're hanging tough. My friend Kelly (who was my best friend all through childhood) and I used to be rabid New Kids on the Block fans. Rabid. Insane. Obsessed. I could go on and on. We were particularly in love with Jordan Knight (sigh). We collected the memorabilia, we wore the clothes, we knew the songs by heart.
In 1994, when they were cool (and so were we) Kelly and I got to see the New Kids in concert on Harriet Island. Now, 14 years later, we're back together and so is the band. They are coming to the Twin Cities in concert on October 21....and we plan to be there.
Yep, Kelly and I will be waiting breathlessly to find out if we can get tickets to the reunion tour. She and I are hyped up and already planning how to show them our eternal, lifelong, devotion. Back in 1994 we created a hand-drawn banner, lovingly made with neon markers, that was longer than my parents' living room. How are we ever gonna top that?
