These few days here have been great, I found new friends and frequent readers, touching comments.

Comments... this is what I will no longer have due to the fact that most of my contacts do not belong to the mindsay community. Let's face it, it is not friendly at all to make people sign up in order to get comments. I understand that it is important to avoid harassment, but I believe making people sign up is not the solution. One can always hide behind a username that only intends to use once.

Considering most of mindsay users are teenagers and that the content of my blog is mainly focused to adults, I know that I won't get many comments from people already inside from the mindsay community.

On the other personal side, I must accept that I feel very upset and disappointed by the fact that I spent a lot of time trying to set up the design of my blog and I have lost it (and completely because I cannot even retrieve the html code) just after a few days of "moving in". The fact that we were not told of the forthcoming changes and possible losses shows that there was not consideration for users.

I thought mindsay was also trying to become a flourishing community for webdevelopers and designers. The fact that one could share a theme, or ask a designer for help contributed to give personality to these pages. Now we all have to fit in the same basic templates. The fact that in v2 there was a category for best design and now the design is completely non-existent, is to me, an example of a community that has decided to forget about its roots, in the name of "functionality" perhaps looking for a bigger audience.

I had started doing some research before, looking for another host that would give me more freedom in certain areas because I had felt somewhat restricted by the mindsay options, but now it is completely suffocating, so this precipitated my decision to leave.

I won't leave this blog completely alone, I will come from time to time to post entries in spanish (for which I know there will be no comments at all, so it doesn't matter), trying to keep my ties with this community, perhaps I will come back someday, I have ideas for expanding my blog experience in the future.
