
I feel the same way. I'm not Catholic, but I was saddened by his death, too. He was a great man.
Well said. I have part of a letter that he wrote for women on my blog. He was a wonderful person and I think a lot of non-Catholic people are saddened as much as Catholics are. I hope the next pope is as gentle a man as he was.
I'm completely against the entire notion of Popes, and I am not overly saddened by his death because he's been on his deathbed for years it seems. And the media is covering it to the exclusion of everything else, but I guess that's better than hearing more about Terry Shiavo.
Anyway, he was fairly progressive as far as Popes go, being against the death penalty and war and all that, so he'll still be missed.
