I have thought often of those men and am grateful to have learned more about them & their cause than I had known before. Thanks for that, to you and Oso.
And welcome back, Mr. K
And thank you for the greeting

Peace to you.

I shall go and read your friends post and I nominated this one as well. It's a beautiful thing that you did.
Absolutely! No point wasting time on what doesn't matter.
Will you tell us what you've been up to for the past month?
Aside from our very full family schedule, and packing for our move to China? Spending an inordinate amount of time in reading, studying, and procuring multi-faith texts of mysticism (Islamic, Qabalic, Sikh, Christian, & Buddhist).
Some things in life are worth dying for. But, I believe you already know that in your 'deep places' of thought. What would you do for your little friend, your 'my guy', if only your death could purchase Life for him?
I thought so...
And that's why they did what they did. For their brothers, and sisters, and mothers, and fathers, and sons, and daughters. For their 'My Guy', whoever it happened to be.
Any man who would not die for the ones that he loves either Loves not or isn't a Man.
However, the 'jackassy' points for which they were striking were to be treated humanely, without beatings and torture, and to be given the basic necessities of right & privilege which can be expected for a political prisoner; blankets, bedding, and medicine for their ills. The few perished as martyrs that the many might reap their labors. It worked.
And that, my young friend, is far from jackassy when you're the one bearing the ills of such abuse.
