...And so now it's time for me to blog!

How is it half way through September already? I guess when one daydreams like me time gets away from you...

Schools been...well...school. I've gotten back into my old ways of procrastination and I've already fucked up a couple quizzes and am probably at least a week behind. Good fucking job, Kristal...

But I guess its better to have my "wake up call" now than a month or so from now. If I really kick my ass into gear I can get things done. I talked to my counselor about my laziness at school (among another things…I will get into that later in the blog) and she gave me some great advice. She said to stop thinking in the past and live "here and now" and that thought has been swimming around in my head since yesterday when she said it. It's so very true...I daydream and worry a ridiculous amount, and it really does prevent me from doing my schoolwork, because I end up thinking my daydreams and reflecting on the past for hours on end is more important than work. I literally make up scenarios in my head about things I have done/may do in the future and think about what my friends and family will do if they find out, and I do that several hours a day everyday. Its fun to do but its becoming a real interference with my priorities.

I think I'm going to take her advice and try to plan out my priorities a few days at a time. When I mean, “plan” though, I do not mean "At 6:30 I have to do ____, at 7:00 I have to do ____" because that will just be too structured for me-I like to be spontaneous. What I mean by planning is that "I have to do ___, ___ and ____ today". I think that will work much better for me.

My counselor also gave me some play dough and its really been helping with my trichotillomania. In the past 48 hours I have only pulled out 1 eyelash (No head hair!:D). It keeps my left hand busy and therefore impossible for me to pull. It’s amazing what a difference something so simple can make.

Anyways, I better stop this procrastination and do my lab (hopefully D:). I'll try posting with new trich pics soon... Just a warning though, my bald spots have gotten pretty bad...*sigh*.

Re: I've Caught up on all your guys' blogs!
holy monkey! that's the most elegant [and most obvious] solution to the trichotillomania! lol... i can't believe no one thought of that one... [this includes me, playing with modeling clay helped me to stop cutting] :-P
and i have a tendency to zone out and daydream in almost exactly the same way as you! I try to restrict my zoning out to when i'm in the shower [which is why my showers last an hour :-P] and as i'm trying to fall asleep. Or when i'm doing other incredibly mundane things... like dishes! so my advice [from experience] is to try to daydream only when doing certain things, and save the rest of the time for your things that you plan to do that day! it works great for me! [when i actually do it! lol]
and yes, wake up calls are better the closer they are to the beginning of the semester. For sure! :-)

Re: I've Caught up on all your guys' blogs!
my daydreaming lasts literally hours. Along with the real scenarios I also picture extremely glamourous or morbid scenarios as well. For some reason I think alot about what would happen if my brother punched me and what my friends would do about it. Its a long story but to sum it up alot of my older friends hate him and he can get violent. He has never hit me but for some reasoni think about it alot.

I also daydream about what its going to be like when I move out of my house and in with my friends in about a year. I really want that freedom and can't wait till it happens.

I probably spend at least 5 hours a day or more thinking about stuff like this and its really gotta be cut down, because I got to get back to reality and realize what needs to be done.

Re: I've Caught up on all your guys' blogs!
yep... mine are a lot like that.
and cutting them down would probably really help. :-)
i never got in the habit of them lasting for that long because my family is so needy... i never really had the time :-P

Re: I've Caught up on all your guys' blogs!
I don't have the time either technically..I should be doing work and stuff when I daydream.

I guess I'm just being an ungrateful child and am too wrapped up in my own fantasy world to snap out of it. *sigh*

Re: I've Caught up on all your guys' blogs!
lol, i seriously doubt you're an ungrateful child. Those are the children that are incredibly spoilt and boss their parents around all the time...

Re: I've Caught up on all your guys' blogs!
that's also true. Ive been taking things like that into consideration (people who are extremely spoiled) whenever I think I am spoiled. Its helping me realize that I am extremely well off, but better than extremely spoiled bossy rich kids because I'm constantly reminding myself of the less fortunate.

And I know how vain that sounds by the way

Re: I've Caught up on all your guys' blogs!
that's one thing i hate about American society today, you're not allowed to say anything good about yourself [even if it's true] without sounding vain!
i agree, you are better than spoilt bossy rich kids, but that doesn't make you vain at all :-)
to me, vain people are the ones that are always saying how wonderful they are, and constantly belittling others because they're just 'not good enough'.
so you are most definitely not vain!

Indeed it is. Besides, Canadians are American-ized in alot of ways (mainstream music, clothes, etc) even though we are different in alot of ways (gay marriage issue, free health care, etc).

Re: I've Caught up on all your guys' blogs!
lol, that can be both good and bad :-P
i knew you guys had free health care, but what's the gay marriage issue? are you guys actually being awesome and letting people marry who they wish? or am i just guessing randomly? :-P

Re: I've Caught up on all your guys' blogs!
I think we are. At least the last I heard of it. But I know there are more people for it here than against it.
