Which chat client do you use?

How many people here use online chat software like AIM? Which do you use most and why? Have you tried other chat clients? I use too many and am forever looking into ways to make them better...like with smileys. I haven't found a whole lot of smileys that I like for MSN and AIM, but I did find plenty for Yahoo. That is all well and good, but I use all three chat clients and would rather have interesting smileys on all of them.

The other thing that bugs me about getting smileys is that some people want you to pay for them before you download. MSN, for instance, has started a program within their own that makes you pay for different cute smileys and icons to put in your messages. Being the savings hound that I am, I search for freebies all the time. I have found some free AIM smileys and some for MSN, too. You are supposed to get 10,000 of those really nice, large, cute smileys. I am not going to count them all, but there are a whole lot of them. Now if I can only integrate them into Trillian I will be a happy camper. ENJOY.
