Ever hear someone talking and end up trying to figure out what it is they are saying? For example, you can hear someone say I was going to Wynn Las Vegas, but the sun was too hot so I decided to just pack it in and go home.I would think "how in the world can you WIN Las Vegas?" I would then just chalk it up as a metaphor for them losing their shirts after a winning streak.

The saddest part is I know that this trait has been passed down to my son. He does the same exact thing, especially when I am on the phone with another adult. He picks words out of the conversation and runs with them. I can say something like "I would just DIE if that happened" and he will say "MOMMY, who died? You can't die! Tell that person they can't die either!". My poor literal child.

That's funny.

There is a song we sang when I was a kid in church school, "Missionary Volunteers." One phrase of the song says:

Christ before us

Christ behind

Christ on every side

For the rescue of mankind

On to glory ride

Okay,... every time we got to Christ behind... I would crack up laughing, laughing to tears laughing. I'm laughing now.... Christ behind... for whatever reason it is still a very humorus line that causes me to think of Christ's butt... and then I laugh.

Then, Kirk Franklin has a song that says

I been through the fire

And I been through the flood

I've been broken into pieces

Seen lightening flashing from above

And I actually asked the choir director why he had to be broken in TWO pieces, why not just broken?  Why make a distinction like two pieces?

Again... we are really really a lot alike. You must be the sister I never had.

My sister thought the Pledge of Allegience said, "And to the Republic for Witches' stand."

She kept asking, "What's a 'Witches' Stand?"
