This question, in my opinion, is multi-layered. One can do many things in life and if one is lucky, one can have numerous careers throughout their life.

Kelly and I have been talking about my ambitions lately. Sometimes even I have wondered if I still have any.

Today, I am a proud officer in The United States Navy Reserve. I also work as a School Planner. For years, I have wanted to be a politician (I hear a chorous of Boos!). I've seen Senator Smith somewhere on the horizon. I'm also an architect and as such, I see myself building museums and hotel/resorts.... I love Good Things, don't you?

So, I do have ambitions and goals. Lately though, I think I've had the equivalent of 'writer's block' with respect to what maybe even I think I need to be doing.

I just married the love of my life - and when I say 'Love of my Life' I mean that more than I have ever meant anything. I'm in a very happy state right now and maybe, just maybe that has me in an occupational haze. graymatter 's  'honey jar' maybe.

Today  I felt inspired. I saw an estate I asked a realtor to look into for us.  It has the beginnings of what Kelly wrote about us having as a home.  We will buy it, I'm sure and am putting that thought out in the universe.   At any point, this house had me inspired in the sense of seeing a path to walk down.

I've often told my wife that for the future, if I was to be by her side, supporting her in her endeavors and being the side-kick, it really didn't phase me.  The most important thing in the living world as far as I'm concerned is to live and love with your family if at all possible.

Family means both that to which you were born or that which you have helped create.

So, what will I do or become?  I'm not exactly sure, but I do  know that as long as I have my family with me to help me and I them, what I become cannot be better than what I already am:  A man, with a family to love.

"what will I do or become?"

Funny.  We are already what we will be. The question should be "what will I bring out of mysef."

You're correct.  I know this as well.  I just felt like writing this piece, sort of like moving thoughts out of my head so that I could put other things in it.

I have the philosophy as well that our destiny is what we live every day.  I actually had a nice conversation with a stranger at jury duty of all places about this exact thing.  I didn't write that here because I'm complex.  You can believe something and still write or speak in what appears to be opposition to it.  It doesn't take away your belief.
