Its the sweetest thing, your lips.
Calling my name for your kiss.
Full and brown, curved up and down.
They're the first thing that I miss.

You love me. And I know you care.
And I do feel it everywhere.
Your walk, your talk, your subtle ways.
No other can compare.

Sometimes I sigh, "My, my, my!".
Whenever I must say goodbye.
A long lost cry for a lazy day.
The ache is worth the try.

Home from a lonely trip abroad.
Your arms do greet me with applause.
Having each other is the greatest cause.
My heart beats just because.

Entwined in our twisted braid of lust.
Holding each other with pensive trust.
We greet each other with what we must.
At long. At last. We kiss!!!

GrayMatter,

Thank you very much for the compliment.  My wife, twentypearls94 thinks alot about your opinions so I guess in a way, this is a double compliment of some kind.  Anyway, I was thinking of her - as I am always - and missing her in Mississippi and thought of this poem to express my desire for her.

Thanks very much for your compliment.  I returned home from my two weeks in Mississippi and have tried to rest - hence my late response.

Not even close to a vacation. More like a nightmare. It was Navy duty.

Absence makes the heart grow fonder, that's for sure...

Great poetry, as usual.  I voted for this one, so that others will see it.

Re: the Longing
And thank you.  Have you heard about poetrychallenge? (sorry it will not put the little thingy on to make it a link).

It is the sight I belong to as bonniegirl in which we challenge one another to write two poems a week.  We have taken a break for the month of June, but I would love it if you would join us and go over there and see what is going on.  Write a comment on "arts4peace"s blog and say you want to join, and she will steer you to the guidelines, which is one of the back blogs.  I enjoy your poetry and I am sure that with a push you could write more and in more subject areas.  You will be surprised how much satisfaction it gives you, and also you will then be seeing our poetry every time.  Twill not be a lot, because we only had four participants last time, but we are always on the prowl for me.  All we do is write and comment on one another's poems, to give one another an edge.

I had taken you from my list, along with Kelly, because we had a disagreement about what she has been blogging about these days; the quest for God and so on.  But I realise enjoy her as well as yourself and am thinking about adding you back...but have not quite decided whether or not to keep whirlingdervish on....hmmmm....

I have not blogged much on here since starting it up...i dont know, I am torn.  But I am adding you to one of them, so keep your eyes peeled...whirlingdervish for now...there, i decided...!

I love Kelly's blogs about everything else.  She has a way about her that is appealing and i love her photos as well, so am adding her back as well.  She has only been polite even when I told her i did not agree with her...so I am apt to keep you guys on.

Re: the Longing
Thanks WD.  artsforpeace actually visited my site and saw this same poem and commented as well - thought it was nice.

Kelly told me about her blogs and your comments.  One thing I know about my wife, she's a big girl with big opinions and backs them up in a very big way.  She actually makes alot of sense when you really listen to what she has to say.  But one thing about her and her opinions, she will agree to disagree as long as you give her the respect of having an opinion that may differ from yours.  Both of us grew up in the church - she seventh day adventist and I pentecostal, so we know alot about Christianity, the faith, the religion, the afterlife according to the faith, etc.  We both are ambivalent in a sense about exactly what God is but are quickly coming to the conclusion that God is what we say it is and that God is within us, irregardles the religious persuasion.

As to  your decision to add us, keep us or discard us - that decision ultimately is up to you.  Kelly's stance as far as I know is that she needs to be careful about who views her - she doesn't want to have psycho's out there looking for her - but she is also open to the dialogue between people with opinions.  That's what this site is for anyway, isn't it?

Re: the Longing
This is true, and pentecostal is what I am as well, altho also ambivalent at times.  But you know, if you grew up in the church, just how ingrained the "truth" is, and that somehow, one cannot get away from it very easily.  I will give a lot of thought to what you have said and adding you back.

But you are right; there is something about Kelly that is, well, attractive...

and of course, I mean her personality.  I like the way she is not afraid to be out there with how she feels, regardless to how or what other people say.  And as i told her, I have seen a change for the better in her whole demeanor since she started on this new quest.  It seems a peace has come because she not longer feels separated from God, but now, with new insight and knowledge, drawn closer.

However, I am no psycho, and will give her the same respect which she has afforded me, and for which I am grateful.
