Well, sounds almost more like you're a fantasy buff than scifi, though they're often marketed together. As for Star Wars, it's a western in space, with more western and fantasy to it than scifi. Perhaps I'm just a bit protective of my genre, being a huge fan of epic space operas(The Reality Dysfunction; Dune; etc.) and hard SF by the greats, like Asimov.
In any case, admitting you have a problem, if you buy into that twelve step garbage, is the first step!

Yeah, it is more fantasy, but all the books are in the Sci-Fi section of Borders - and the show is on the Sci-Fi channel, so I just figured as much. Oh well!
Yeah, you've made it to the darkside!!!! LOL!
We need more woman walking the aisles of the Fantasy/Sci Fi section, lol. People would always look at me oddly whenever I'd go looking for books, haha.
NO STAR TREK?????
No Buffy or Angel. What kinda sci-fi fan are you? What about Battlestar Galactica? J/K. I'm such a dork when it comes to sci-fi, especially Star Trek.

No Battlestar Galactica either
But do you remember the mini-series "V" on television? Not many do. With the lizards and the lizard-human baby?
Yes! V was soooo good! Robert Englund, the guy who played Freddy Kreuger was on V. He played one of the aliens who was nice and was against the invasion.
I LOVED Wonder Woman and The Incredible Hulk.
