#5 - Jennifer Garner almost taking a spill as she walked out to present an award
This would have ranked higher if she actually hit the deck.

#4 - Lauren Bacall going through the early stages of alzheimer's while trying to read off the teleprompter
It was sad but fascinating like watching a train wreck. Bacall does look pretty good for being older than the steam engine though.

#3 - The Swiftboating of the Best Actress nominees
Especially liked the Dame Judi Dench part.

#2 - Dolly Parton's hillbilly hoedown performance
The big jugs, the southern twang, the face like The Joker...Dolly is a national treasure.

And the winner of the night:
#1 - Three 6 Mafia's performance and acceptance speech

Everything about this was just too surreal. From the Bob Fosse influenced pimps&hoes dance number to Taraji Henson singing so awfully in her junior high prom dress to the fact that the lead pimp dancer was played by the guy from Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo...it was a masterpiece of nonsense. And then they gave an acceptance speech like they were at the SOURCE Awards instead of the Oscars.

Aww poor Jennifer Garner! I wonder how scary that was. I wonder if J-Lo wasn't just a tad bit happy with her bobble.

I'm happy as hell for Three-6 Mafia. I should have known that they'd get the oscar since they had Queen Latifa announcing the winner.

It would have been so awesome if they had Dame Judi Dench give them their award.

Poor Lauren.  I felt bad for her...it was painful to watch!

I wish Garner would have fell.  Then she would have had to have that man chin & jawl reconstructed!

Martin Scorsese 0, Three 6 Mafia 1.  Only in America!!!!

Re: Top 5 Oscar Moments
She should have worn her bifocals.

And Scorsese is 0 for two when compared rappers (Eminem won for the 8 mile song).

Re: Top 5 Oscar Moments
down here (in australia) people are saying that crash winning best film was a massive surprise, everyone was expecting capote to win....

but!

if you think of the oscars as a buisness (which sadly, it has become) crash winning was a massive move. it was filmed in la (where the industry types hope to keep films, instead of being outsourced to places like new zealand, europe and Oz, cause its cheaper to make them there) and it had an ensemble cast (which would appeal to the academy as the majority are actors).

so yeah, the movie was awesome, and so was brokeback mountain and so was good night and good luck (capote {ive read} wouldnt be able to stand on its own legs if hoffman wasnt in it)... do you think crash shouldve won?

i dont think claims that brokeback mountain didnt win because the academy would never allow a gay movie to win is ridiculous...

anyway thats my ventilation...

cheers

Re: Top 5 Oscar Moments
Capote does get a huge boost from Hoffman's performance but it is still a good movie in its own right.

I liked Crash more than Brokeback (which was the heavy favorite over here) so its winning was alright with me. Plus Crash was a more "showy" movie, Brokeback was really lowkey by comparison and the Academy loves big, showy films.
