
I think it's because it's emotional to the living, to lose someone - It is selfish of the living too I guess, but understandable in some ways. There are certainly taboos and prejudices about talking about depression and they need to end too. And certainly, it happens, people who are generally stable still commit suicide because they don't like the thought of a whole life ahead of them or don't want to wait to see what afterlife would be like, or want to meet with a deceased person if they believe they can.
Certainly, I think all the problems in the world too, can cause depression itself
We can't hope to change the whole world, but we can influence things on the small scale and do what we can to make life better for those we immediately deal with I think, that's particularly needed I think in a sad world like this - we can try to make it a more bearable place, perhaps that'd be a good use of life...
