Omgosh! Quite a big adventure you have ahead of you!!! I wish you a lot of luck on your trip - it's going to be a bit rough with the little ones but it'll also provide a ton of great family road trip memories..."remember the time mom took all of us to see grandma...?" heehee!
It's to bad Dale isn't going to be home sooner so you could all go togehter. Still, it'll be nice for you to see your mom. Will this be a surprise visit or is she aware of you possibly coming? I was going to say you should book her a flight to come to you instead for a mini-vacation of her own, but you said she needs her pantry and fridge stocked so, yeah, it'd be good for you to go down there to help her out.
Have a great trip! I am sure you will have a lot of fun stories to share!
Yes, it definately would have been quite the adventure. We have always done road trips. No airplanes for us. You can't pack much that way. Forget about flying with a pack n play! Anyway, we aren't going now, and I'll post about that in a bit.
Sounds like a nice little adventure. The most challenging part seems to be that they are too young to sit in the car alone; makes restroom stops for you difficult, but then again we moms are like superwomen. Have a fantastic trip!
It would have been a fun trip. We are like superwoman, even more so for us military moms! I'll post about why we aren't going in a little bit.
If you do decide to go then I wish you many good times and lots of patience
I think you should go, I know that's easy for me to say, I'm not gonna be the one with 4 kids in a car, but it will be so worth it in the end.
I think you should go, I know that's easy for me to say, I'm not gonna be the one with 4 kids in a car, but it will be so worth it in the end. I really wanted to go. I was excited about it, but we aren't going now, and I'm pretty pissed off. I'll post about it in a few minutes though.
I've done quite a few 9-10 hour drives with my two boys, so I know a tiny bit of what your trip might be like. I'm sure you can handle it, but yes the potty stops and overnight hotel stops will be a challenge. Don't overpack on clothes if you can do laundry at your mom's...that is the mistake I always make. I have a packing list that I've used for years now and just modify based on their ages and what season it is. When you have to bring loads of things like diapers and wipes, it makes packing that much more of a challenge! Remember that you can always shop for that stuff when you get there. I remember you telling us about your brother...no change there, eh? Good luck with your decision and your planning...let us know if you decide to go!
We always do road trips everywhere we go, and seems like we have always had kids, even though that's not true. I appreciate the advice. I had already decided to only pack for a few days, and wash and rewear cause of limited space. However, we aren't going now. I'll post about it so I don't have to type it out 6 times.

Insanity, maybe...but I think it's a fabulous idea! And if you do go the padded cell route, I'll send you something nice and soft and *safe* to entertain yourself with.

Thanks so much for the laugh! I'm pretty pissed off at this point, and will post about it. So I needed that chuckle about the soft, safe, entertaining gift. ((((((Kimmie)))))) Really needed it!
If you are going to start pegging marshmallows at me you should at least give me a marshmallow shooting gun to go with them. hehe
oooh, fun!! but would the gun parts be too dangerous? i wouldn't want you beating yourself or someone else over the head with it. the only way marshmallows could really hurt you is if they are rock hard stale or if you choked on them. *note to self: do not stick marshmallows up nose*
ROFL!! No, don't put marshmallows up the nose! Yes, I suppose the hard plastic parts could be dangerous.

Hmm....so if I distract the looney bin guards with the marshmallows up my nose, then you can hit 'em over the head with the hard plastic gun, and voila - we have rescued you from the rubber room!

I'm sure that distraction would work beautifully! Although I think if I had taken that trip, AND knowing how my mother feels, I probably would need to stay in the rubber room. Besides, it would be quite entertaining to watch the marshmallows bounce off the walls. hehe
lol, that would be fun! but i'd also worry about you using the gun on your mother and then having to bail you out of jail.
that reads a lot worse than i meant it, lol!
