Yesterday went pretty well.  I did end up wearing the black dress(thank you all for the advice)  and I curled my hair.  It was a family/friend only ceremony at the church for the baptism so that was nice...Ididn't have to sit through mass and all that...I never would have been able to do it lol I have to pee like every 5 minutes.

Shawn and his brother Nick really waited until the last minute to pick a gift up for their mom.  After the baptism we had to run the the grocery store to get flowers and cards.  Shawn also got a card for his stepmom.  When he went to give it to her you could so tell that if there hadn't been other people around she wouldn't have taken it.

Shawn's dad and stepmom more or less ignored us.  I guess Shawn talked to his dad for a minute or two at the church when I went to the bathroom.  And Jim pretty much had to say hi to me when he came to see Davin  I was sitting next to the person holding him later on.  But other than that they didn't even look in our direction, not complaining at all about that :)  No one mentioned that I was pregnant in front of them so we don't know if they realized it or not.

Later on Shawn, Mark, Josh and I went golfing.  I've only golfed maybe 4 times in my life...and it was all last summer.  I was once told by my gym teacher during the golf segment that I could never golf because I'm too much of a softball player and Shawn pretty much told me the same thing last summer.  Well...now everyone is like wow you're amazing!  Shawn wants me to start golfing 3 days a week, he thinks that if I improve my short game I could start entering tournaments.  I can drive the ball over 200 yards but once I get on the green I can't put to save my life.  It was really fun out there last night and even though it had been cold and icky that morning when we were golfing it was beautiful.  Toby had a great time out there too...he loves to be able to run free and chase things.  The bad thing is that ever time we take him golfing we have to give him a bath because he dives right into the ponds.

I guess Shawn got a call from his sister-in-law Amy.  She's really worried about me.  Pretty much everyone is worried about me from the sound of it.  Everyone seems to think that I'm having depression problems and need to see the therapist about it(I haven't gone since before my surgery in Febuary).  I guess that it's already  evident to people that I'm going to have some major postpartum issues.  Shawn called me already from work to tell me that he thinks that I should make an appointment today.  Another thing that he's trying to do is get me onto a schedule...kinda like what Amy has to do for Josh.  He's bipolar so if he doesn't have a schedual that he sticks to he gets major swings.  Shawn wrote a list on the white board before he left this moring...we'll see how it goes I guess.

Re: Yesterday...
Kim, I'm so glad to hear that you have other folks who care (of course besides Shawn and those of us here who know you) and are able to show it by way of their concern.

It's entirely possible that you won't have any post partum brain chemistry difficulties at all.   I had a little funk but it was short lived (as memory serves, i'm ancient lol)

It's  great that you may be taking-up a new sport like golf, adding to the repertoire of wide interests that you have.   All those things add up to making  you the beautiful & dynamic woman that you are.

Re: Yesterday...
I really hope that i dont.  Right now I'm still at the point where I don't want anything to do with the baby.  I can't bring myself to buy anything for it and I avoid talking about being pregnant at all costs.

Re: Yesterday...
I'm glad you had a good day yesterday.

Took me quite a few years to learn to get along with my inlaws, but we have finally created a workable relationship.  I wouldn't say that I'm close to them, however, we try to spend several evenings a month with them during the summer months.  My hubby has a garden at their place, and they have a trampoline and swimming pool, so it is a popular place with the kids as well.  We grill out their quite a bit, so that is fun.  We had a quiet day with them yesterday, my big kids were working, so it was just 3 of us, the two of them, and my BIL who still lives at home (at 30)

Golfing sounds  interesting, have fun with that while you can.

Any idea yet if you'll be able to meet with me at the Mall?  I'm free until Memorial Day weekend when I starting working in the Dells.

Re: Yesterday...
mmm...not sure yet...I'm going to ask my doctor next Monday exactly what I can and can't be doing.  In the letter she sent me last week she said to do as little as possible and rest and cut out as much stress as I can.  lol I'm not sure what'd she'd say about me driving in the cities and walking around the mall all day.  Last time I saw her I asked her if it was ok for me to go to a water park that shawn and I got a gift certificate for and she told me no on that.

Re: Yesterday...
I'm glad things went well, and I'm glad people are speaking up with their concerns, sounds like it's help Shawn to understand things better. Hope it all works out well. I'm not sure I agree with the schedule, but if it helps its a good thing, I just don't want Shawn to add any more pressure then he already does.
