I guess we are going to try and get a 203-K loan for the house. The sellers said that they would give us more time if we could use our 2nd mortgage lender. He denied us for the regular FHA, saying that the pictures I sent were uninhabitable. I called him and asked him what was uninhabitable about it. he goes, oh, well ... it looks like there is woodwork missing (the baseboards) I told him that they were all still there, we had taken them off to paint more thoroughly and professionally. He goes, oh ... well ... it looked like there was flooring missing. I said no there isn't, it's all there. Oh ... well ... the carpet looked like it was in shambles! It needed vacuuming or something. Ok, so let me get this right, we were denied because the carpet needed to be vacuumed? Are you kidding me?! No, apparently he isn't. So, he said the only way we could get the loan through him was to do a 203-K loan. Which means we have to borrow a minimum of 5000 more and hire a contractor to fix the house up. I guess since all the windows are in brick, I'd rather have a contractor mess with it than us. All the windows need to be replaced. They are single paned and have probably been there since the house was built in the 50s. I guess at least we are getting the house. Maybe. There is still a chance that this other lender will let us get the FHA loan with them. However, I think we might have to start the whole process again. pay another appraiser to come check the place out, and stuff. My dad was going to come up today to fix the plumbing, but I figured, if we had to do the 203-K loan, why not just let them do it? I'm not happy about it, but what are you going to do? Like I said, at least we are getting the house. We will be completely broke, but we will have a house. The per diem, and closing, and down-payment is going to take all we have, and then some. Not to mention we won't have a washer, dryer, refrigerator, or food for that matter. I think we are going to ask his parents to give us our wedding money they offered us now, use if for the house and stuff, and hopefully build our funds back up for the wedding next May. Because I AM going to have my wedding. Damn-it. Still fighting with mom about having BBQ for the reception. I really think we can make it wedding-appropriate and it will be delicious, and it's what we want. Finals are in two weeks. This week, the week before finals, all of my professors decided it would be a good idea for one final project before we can study for any tests. Cool, huh? They seem to think so. Arg! So, tonight, I think I'm going to try to clean the room, so we can have a more organized and maybe relaxed place to study and sleep. Maybe go out for dinner and bring it back, watch a movie, and just try to relax and be, before hell brakes loose for the next two weeks. yay.
