The good, the bad and the ugly.

First, a heartwarming story for all you softies. You may not have heard of Mike Coolbaugh. He was a first base coach for a minor league team. He was killed earlier this year when he was hit with a line drive. His wife was pregnant with the couple's third child at the time.

The players from the Colorado Rockies voted to give his widow a full share of the team's playoff earnings. Just goes to show that not all professional athletes are selfish douchebags.

The Bad

Travis Henry of the Denver Broncos is facing a year suspension from the NFL. He was busted for marijuana...again. That's bad news for Henry and the Broncos because he was leading the league in rushing. It seems he has a history of bad decisions. I have recently learned that he has 9 illegitimate children with 9 different women.

I guess I'd be smoking dope too if I had to pay those bills.

The Ugly

The New York Yankees got blasted 12-3 yesterday by the Cleveland Indians. The news was not all good for Indians fans however. Cleveland Cavs star LeBron James was in the crowd being interviewed. He was wearing a Yankee hat. Cleveland fans were livid. It turns out that he is a huge frontrunner. He told a reporter that he was also a Dallas Cowboys fan.

How does an Ohio kid grow up to be a Yankee and Cowboy fan?

We heard about the CO Rockers coach out here. I guess being the home of the Sioux City Explorers we would huh!

That is great they gave the coaches wife and kids a peice of their profit!

I thought the Sioux City Explorers sounded familiar. Turns out that they are in the same league with the Coastal Bend Aviators. They are located just outside of Corpus Christi. I hear about them all the time on the radio.

There is a another minor league team in Corpus so they always have a lot of news about the minors on the radio there. That's why I was familiar with the Coolbaugh story. Who knew baseball could be so dangerous?

After having to have my bottom teeth capped, a few stitches, lots of strawberries, and road rash from hell; nothing about softball or baseball suprises me! I was a fast pitch softball catcher!

Baseball and softball players are some of the strongest atheletes out there and very vindictive. Who would have thought a stop and start sport huh!
