My career as a quarterback was short-lived. One game to be exact. I hurt my chest last Sunday. I thought it was just a bruise and that it would pass. I guess not.

 

I think I did something to my left pectoral muscle. It has gotten worse as the week has gone on. Practicing on Wednesday didn't help either. Stretching my arm above my head is difficult. Coughing or sneezing leaves me with the feeling that someone stabbed me in the heart.

 

But on the plus side...

 

It looks like I will leave football behind and concentrate on music. I auditioned to be the lead singer for a band on Tuesday night. The band wants me to come out tonight and do some songs with them at their gig. The name of the band is Revolution Unleashed and they are playing at Downtown Bar & Grill in Victoria. So if you are in the area...

LOL, down 59.  I've never been to Victoria, TX, but I wouldn't mind actually taking the trip.

I've been learning cover songs lately, mainly 90's alternative (which I can't believe they call it classic rock now...).  But I'm trying to break away from the whole reggae thing and I'm trying to get heavier on my acoustic guitar, in case I get an electric guitar someday.

Hey, that sounds cool. That stuff is right down my alley.

 

I sang two songs with the band last night. I did You Give Love a Bad Name by Bon Jovi and Tush by ZZ Top. I think it went pretty well.

Yeah, they mostly play shows in Victoria and the surrounding smaller towns. But let me tell you, they are damn good.  And I'm not easily impressed when it comes to local live music.

 

If I get it I'll send you a list of dates and times.

I wish I could hear the band. Let me know if a tour brings you to Omaha. heh heh. Until then a video would be nice but probably not possible, eh?

They only play gigs in south Texas, but if I can secure a spot then I'm sure we'll get some audio on the net at least.

 

I'll be continuing the audition on Tuesday. I'll update my blog after that. I feel pretty good about it right now. I like my chances compared to the other candidates.
