This is a great day for America...

but there is one thing I have noticed today that has ruined my mood a little. When gas prices started going down before the elections, we all knew the reasons why. I said that the gas prices would go right back up after the elections were over but I didn't think it would happen this fast. Gas prices around here were $1.88 yesterday. Today gas prices are $2.09.

I have to give George Bush some credit. He finally did something right, he gave Mr. Rumsfeld the boot. That's not all, he also said that he would work with the Democrats. That is a little shocking considering that before the elections we were hearing that a vote for the Democrats was a vote for the terrorists. For some reason Mr. Bush isn't as tough as he was a few days ago. What happened?

The people have spoken and they have said, "Hell no!" to the Neocon agenda. I am proud of the American people. They have overcome their fears and put a stop to tyranny.

So did you hear me when I saw that Rumsfeld was ousted?  I kinda forgot that I have neighbors now, and I let out a 'whoop' that was a bit loud.  But, middle of the afternoon on a Wed., so hopefully no one heard.  I haven't noticed if the gas prices went up here or not....will have to look next time I leave the complex.  I'm rather pleased, myself, with America's Choice, so to speak.    I have some family, on the other hand, who are not.

*blushes and hangs head*  Yeah, that was me.

Found out today too that one of my uncles is a republican.  He said something to my mom about "the democrats are going to ruin it for us all".....I'm glad she passed that on to me, so I know to not bring up politics with him, because it won't end well.  And probably 90% of my dad's family are republican, so.....yeah.  In my case, the apple landed far from the tree....different orchard!

I agree the people have spoken, but it remains to be seen what will really change.

On a different, but related point. When the price per barrel of oil skyrocketed, the high price justified a very expensive natural gas drilling method. Previous to the increase, all the natural gas reserves beneath Wyoming were deemed to expensive to extract. Now it's gangbusters to get it out. And guess who owns thousands of natural gas rich acres in Wyoming?  The same man whose five draft deferments you never hear about... Wyoming native Dick Cheney. Oh boy! Go figure.
