Just reading your account brought tears to my eyes... my children are safe on home (US) turf, I COULD worry about when I will speak to them next, whether they are alive and well in the meantime . . . sometimes I do, even so..... but it isn't a daily reality like it must be for you. Sounds like you have a positive outlook, though- that is so important for all of you. My brother in law left March 1st for his 7th tour- he leaves my sister with 4 teens to deal with- and now she has a broken leg, to boot! Her boys are both talking about joining the military in the next year. I can't imagine the worry.
No tears please. I cannot imagine 7 tours of duty. Your poor, brave sister. I hope her leg heals soon. I also hope that her 4 teens are a huge help to her. It must be awfully hard on them all. I just pray that they all come home safe, whole, and healthy. PEACE
I didn't realize you had a son in Iraq. You're in my thoughts. October seems so far away. Interesting how time seems to fly by until your waiting. Peace...
Thank you. All three of my children were/are in the service. My eldest daughter, Paula was in the army reserve for 12 years until her knees went out on her. My eldest son, George was in the army reserve and served one tour of duty in Iraq. He is out now and suffering from post-traumatic stress syndrome. The army won't help him now that he is out. My youngest child, John is in the regular army. This is his 2nd tour of duty in Iraq. He has re-enlisted for 6 more years, so I guess he will probably have to serve more tours over there. Just keep our men and women who are serving our country in your thoughts and prayers. Peace Be With You! judy
