Holy moly! I hope you recover soon. Man!
Ouch!!
This is becoming more and more commonplace in Atlanta - a city most definitely not equipped for bike riders. They're calling it "The Summer of Splat."

"Weebles wobble but they don't fall down"...but Jim does! Seriously glad you are okay beyond the bruises, those heal pretty quickly. I came home from my vacation with no less than 10 bruises on my arms and legs, and one...well never mind that one. I bruise easily...but heal quickly too.
Biking is dangerous! That's part of why I like it -- city riding is definitely "technical" in the language of professional bicycling. Did you see the guy fall down a mountain in the Alps in the Tour de France?
I came away unhurt in my one bike crash. The reason to wear the helmet is not if one gets hit by a car; it's if you fall down on your head (which is usually one's own fault).
Good recovery, Adam
Well, at least one of us did.
What kind of bike were you thinking of getting? BTW, I will definitely buy your helmet...
