When we were kids, people who ate spam were poor and couldn't afford the real thing - but actually, I really like spam.  I fry it up with a little bit of soy sauce in a frying pan (sliced thin) and it's very tasty.  But I have to agree with andreux - I have YET to meet someone who actually likes John McCain and I HAVE met people who like spam.  

I always make sure there are several tins of Spam around - camping, emergency supplies, goofy recipes, etc.

It's amazing how good spam tastes if you are really hungry!
