
I tried the Dvorak layout too by taping some masking tape over the keys with the dvorak layout written on it. It was too confusing for me because I know QWERTY so well.
Wow, you went to a lot more trouble than me. I just printed out a sheet with the layout on it and tried not to look at the keyboard. I had it memorized pretty quickly, but I'm still real slow. I keep having to revert back for serious typing. It's going to take time.
well i'd say that you are indeed a masochist to go to the Dvorak. looked at the layout for that keyboard and looks confusing. it was hard enough to learn the standard let alone something new at my age lol good luck with that
Thanks. Yeah, it's a bit confusing, but the layout is optimized for reduced movement, whereas QWERTY has no relation to the user. It was created to reduce jamming in old typewriters with fast typists, which has no longer has any relevance. It's just going to be a long, slow transition for me I think, but worth it.
