I've seen the commercials for it but I can't remember em, lol. Looks creepy enough though in the picture

i encourage you to see it, just be prepared for some violent/graphic scenes. the true scariness is more to do with the reality than the fantasy.
Hi Jestar, so it's that good hu? I didn't realise it was out already! I might bring that movie up at the next T+ youth group meeting on Tuesday. It would be a good night out for the group. I already know that one of the guys wants to see it.
Oh... but it is a good story yeah? I don't mind some violent/ graphics so long as it is relevant to the story and not just there for the gore. I mean, it is war, war is very violent in reality.
Your point about fairtales is especially true when you know the context out of which they come.
An excellent book on this is "Creative Storytelling" "Building Community , Changing Lives by Jack Zipes. Disney has been about th worst thing that could happen to most fairy tales.
jack zipes is the leading expert on fairytales i know...must check out his books someday.
i still love disney despite showing the watered down versions...i mean, they're for the general audience, most of all kids, so of course they had to get rid of all that violence and tragedy.
i only hope though that people are aware that fairytales were originally for adults - the peasant class who needed some 'excitement' in their meagre lives - and shouldn't be dismissed as just for kids.

just get them to read the original and often obscure grimm tales. 'the juniper tree' comes to mind. lots of blood and cannibalism in that one.
