At least you can't say that you are surprised.
if it weren't for the show how do you think those children would be fed and clothed? the right choice was made!
That family has plenty of money. It's not an issue anymore. They live in a million dollar plus compound. Explain to 8 kids that the right choice was made. That their parents greed won out and they are now without a father. That's definitely the right choice.
when a husband cheats, a divorce is needed! kate is more woman that most women and didn't let his cheating ass back to do it to her again! Plus, they are not "without" a father, he isn't dead!
GOOD FOR HER, AND THE KIDS!!
GOOD FOR HER, AND THE KIDS!!
Sorry to butt in, but yes, I do think they would have been fed and clothed. Before the show J&K depended on much help from the community and their church. That is when I enjoyed the show the most - when little old ladies helped fold laundry and people dropped off meals for them, etc. and they only filmed like once or twice a year to update their lives.
Without the show the kids probably wouldn't be dressed in head to toe Gymboree and instead might be wearing hand-me-downs and resale items. And no, they wouldn't be served organic meals prepared by a TLC hired chef, but they would have a belly full of homemade goodies from people who would want to help and reach out to the family.
I understand the initial purpose of the show - to help the family financially, but I just think it became a monster and the parents lost focus of what was really important and it is such a shame.
Money is NOT the root of all evil...the LOVE of money is the root of all evil and I do believe Kate and Jon just got too comfortable being spoiled by what the show bought them (note, not what it bought the kids). I'm wondering how tummy tucks, hair plugs and traveling engagements are helping those children? Do they really need name brand clothes, mansion style homes, million dollar rental vacation homes? Hmmm....
I feel for those kids so much. They did nothing to deserve this and although the kids may not realize the affects of all this now, they most certainly will down the line. In otherwords, this divorce is only the start of tearing apart of the family - once the kids are older and read/see about all this they will most certainly be angry and upset with one or both of the parents and I predict more tearing apart of the family will happen.
Very sad no matter how one looks at it.

Good points. Every one of them. I also was curious why no counseling? I have never heard any stories about them working on their marriage, working through their problems. At least trying.
Truly sad. But it does make me even more grateful for my family and I'll stick with what I have.
K10, I accidently deleted your last comment. I was going to respond and wanted to delete my response but it deleted the whole comment. I apologize. Even though we obviously don't view this matter the same way, I respect your views. Post it again please.
