The weather has been pretty darn hot in Seattle the past couple of days and we have been spending loads of time in my parents back yard.  I thought it might be fun to experiment with my camera a bit and take some "nature" shots.  Because I have an almost four year old son and because I sell things on ebay I take a lot of pictures but I rarely use more then one or two settings on my camera so I thought what the heck?  I was going to be outside all day so why not do something creative?  Of course I couldn't resist snapping some pictures of Jack either.
This is what I came up with not very exciting but still a fun tour of our outdoor sanctuary.  Jack really likes feeding the birds so I thought I would try to get some photos of them but that was way easier said then done! So I settled on taking pictures of the foliage, flowers and fish pond.

I am learning.  I have been bitching about finding a hobby for so long and I thought ya know why not experiment with the camera?  I don't know if you knew that I have always had an interest in painting as well and Jack and I spent some time today with paint.  I taught him how to mix colors and on Thursday I am going to bring all my stuff to my Mom and Dads so we can start painting in the back yard.  I am sure I will have to take photos of that as well  Thanks for all of your encouraging words, your the best!
