Yesterday was my Birthday and I spent the day doing what I pleased. Well, aside from maybe a few chores, errands and kid transports lol. It may sound silly, but the first thing I did to celebrate was set up an appointment to donate blood. It's one of those things that kept getting put off until the point it was forgotten. One time, the night before my appointment I was physically assaulted by an ex while I was picking up my child. It of course, was Budweiser's fault (since we as humans look to blame lol), but keeping my appointment was the last thing on my mind. Another time, a tree fell down behind my car, and by the time I was ready to go--it was too late to make it. Once, I went so far as to get a T-shirt in advance as they were closing down the mobile unit. I was to return the next day at a certain time. When I got there, they were already gone. Talk about guilt. Now with that very T-shirt already worn out, I was determined to go. I did and I am glad. Mission accomplished, finally.
My middle boy and his wife-to-be took me to Ci Ci's Pizza. Oh yeah! I did the Alfredo thing. And got to sport my new T-shirt. How awesome is that? My youngest daughter seems to like the Alfredo and salad too some how. Her tastes change, as I can remember her going straight for the pizza in the past.
As I went to pick up my son, his girlfriend, who he was visiting, gave me some pretty candles from both of them. How nice to be remembered :-)
As I headed home I felt very pleased with my day, thinking on how nice and late it started. That was the best part maybe lol. By the time we arrived home, my youngest son returned from the fair and we took care of some chores, talked, and went out for drinks: I got a mighty mocha -double caffeine and they got a variety of fountain drinks.
I'll see my oldest girl tomorrow when she brings the Grand Angels by for me to babysit.
I reworked a fun pic that I had posted here previously. I added a huge amount of white chalk and turned Kingsford into Kingsford Cloud. I added a fixative to him before and it made all the light tones disappear along with most of the detail. I decided to have fun with it by adding bright white smears over the kingsford charcoal. Freedom. I may make him my re-workable study haha. I know if this white disappears again, he will get the oil pastel treatment.
I really enjoyed my day. Funny how I never thought I'd be this old when I was young but now, I imagine I'll be over 100 before I get any rest.
I've made it to the year 1968 in my life story; talk about slow goes it. It took a long time to live through it, hopefully the highlights won't take that long to write. But I've decided that it will be a picture story to help with my lack of words/clarity. I may have to write in chunks as there are just some events I'm not always eager to cover on certain days. It would speed it up a lot if I were to just arrange them later. I thought it may be good for the kids one day. One day if they ever wonder..... Who knows? They may just ignore it --Either way is OK.
Everything is fine :-)
