Been a few days since I've posted so thought I'd get caught up .... it's kinda gone like this:
Friday - Up at 3:30 a.m. and off to work. I get to work and there is an extremely nasty note taped down to my desk. I actually share this desk with the other girl that does this job on the days I don't. She's been there like 10 years. Anyway we had switched days around here and there because I needed Saturday off and she needed one day off so we rearranged our schedules last week a bit. I had taken on a project that she usually does out of shear boredom. Little did I know that a few minor things like initialing a line change would get the powers that be so pissed off. The bottom line to this story is I did not inital the paperwork. I spaced it out. Sent it off and was greeted by this note the next am. It was nasty at best ... "if I was doing my job right and wasn't so stupid (I don't exagerate here at all) I would know to initial here and sign there" .... yada yada yada ... upset me a bit ... and wrote back a note of my own. Then the phone rings and it's the note writer. "I didn't want you to think that note was left for you ... I'm tired of (the other girl that works this desk) not doing her job." I informed her that it was me ... not her that had done this horrible deed. She apologized ... told me to tear up the note ... realized I had not done this before ... explained why we initaled here and signed there .... I tore up the note ... life went on. Dave said I should have kept this note as it was about as unprofessional as you can get. Oh well...
Home from work and start setting up for Saturday's yard sale. Dave is hauling boxes of stuff from the shop to the deck for unpacking and pricing. He's got a very hurt back and not an easy task for him right now but he's being the trooper. As I'm unpacking I see a car flying down our long dirt driveway. Dust flying everywhere. Turns hard into the parking area in front of the shop (garage), jumps out of the car and I hear: "Dave...buddy!" Dave is in the shop with his back to this guy and I can see Dave through the side door of the shop. I'm walking to the front of the deck to get a closer look. The next thing I hear - and I'm serious Jen & Justin - is "Dave's not here"! And then I see this guy .... it's the same freaking server that got him when he was summoned for his deposition. He knows Dave .... has seen Dave. "Oh ... come on buddy ... I know your Dave ...let's not even go there ...! Dave turns and the look on his face was classic "OH SHIT". Served. Supposed to be in court 500 miles away on Monday - tomorrow. Says he's not going. My hubby may end up in jail. Hum......
The yard sale - ahhhh yes. Now this is an adventure every time. For those that don't yard sale it can bring out the upper scale folk as well as the ... well, not so upper scale folk & everything inbetween. And all can be either really nice or really stupid. It's the stupid that make me just want to scream, yell and punch walls. Can people really be this dumb? Yes - they can. I never go to a yard sale expecting not to pay something for something. That's why we have these stupid things. To make a few extra bucks. Not to support the toothless, greasy haired lazy bastards that won't go to work and support their damn families. They will ask how much something is as if the written amount on item isn't there. What does the sticker say I ask? Well we thought maybe you would just want to get rid of this .... you are certainly right there buddy, I do want to get rid of it .... but freakin ten cents is to much to ask? ten cents? HELLO YOU FREAK! He sets it down and walks away. Ten cents .... fuck the hell off dude....! Anyway this is the most un-profitable yard sale I've ever had. Made 140.00 for the day. Left signs and stuff out in case anyone wanders through today. And thinking about leaving out for next weekend as well. We will see ...
Mom arrived home safely last night around 8:00. She was very tired but had a good time. She didn't go to church today so she must have been exhausted. She brought home salt water taffy (my favorite) and this great pair of socks (I am a sock junkie) .. she knows how to make me smile. Have a good Sunday all!
