My spouse said that by the time we are in true fire season (after August) there will be nowhere to burn...
Namaste everyone. It's my natal day and I am going off to have some fun...(and later to an Eritrean restaurant with family - my favorite foods)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope it is a joyous one.
Eritrean food - yum!
I am going out to buy some plants today too. I am buying a very fussy but very much-loved gardenia plant, which I will once more try to raise around here, and some other plants for my newly-landscaped backyard, just in time to stay home all summer.
And yes, I think we are smelling that Napa fire. I know we did yesterday, because we were over by Oakmont ( the senior citizen place between Santa Rosa and Sonoma) and it was much worse there, closer to the Napa border. But we are also getting smoke from Mendocino County now too, with fires up there close to Ukiah. We are surrounded by fires, Perrye. Yes, a scary beginning to summer. In all our 35 years here, I never remember this kind of thing in June!
Yes, Eritrean is my favorite, and my older son remembered it. So, we get to go out to dinner tonight, and I don't have to cook! Thanks for the birthday wishes ;~)
Hugs back, Namaste, A.
And, you should know - there are 75 fires in the Shasta-Trinity area alone!!!! My friend I told you about is down here, but her spouse is up there in Trinity. The first thing I smelled this morning was fire. Yesterday, we went over to visit my husband's uncle, over nearer the Napa county border, and man, the sky was ugly and dense. It's really scary that this is happening so early...
Namaste, A.
Hope you have a wonderful day!
Peace. J.
Namaste and big hugs, A.
I'm going to try and be more positive ..... it can't hurt.
Peace. J.
Namaste, A.
