flavored papers are "THE BOMB"
and watch that stuff in that crappy fridge..try to cook the meats before you go if you need to and watch the cross contamination..if you cut cheese or veggis or meat..wipe the blade real good before you cut the next item..and at least wipe your hands good after every step in the food prep

Thanks C. .... I have been really careful with the stuff in the fridge.  It actually straighted itself out Saturday ..... and worked beautifully ..... then poof .... no propane ..... but the freeze had kept the blocks of ice frozen so those went in the cooler to keep stuff cold till we got home. 

I'm hooked on the flavored papers ..... too yummy!

The fridge is actually in the trailer.  We took four fans from old computers and have been using them to help keep a breeze blowing on the back of it.  Run them off the battery charged by the solar panel.  They seem to work fairly well helping to keep it cool.  When we ran out of propane it had actually held temperature for a good 24 hours give or take a few minutes. 

The left me with the peaches and cream papers ..... so yummy ..... !

I'm so glad you two had such a great visit together.  I'd so love to visit your claim, I'm a nature kind of girl, I just never get to experience it much, lol.  I still have to check out Jen's blog for the pics.

Time and money Jules, time and money.  I swear this happened, the other day I got a notice from Southwest that I earned a flying credit and the first, first thing I thought of to use it was to fly up for Jen's wedding, but getting there's just half the battle, the rental car and hotel stay would cost a good chunk too that we just don't have right now, damn economy, darn kid who has to go to college one day, lol.  Anyway, you guys are always the first people up in that area that I think of to visit when one of those free flights come my way.   (((HUGS)))

we really had a great time.  and i can't wait to come back.  i've still got my fingers crossed and sending some positive vibes about the camp being safe.  let's hope. 

man, i can't believe you guys ate ALL those almonds!  speaking of which - i got my SECOND box of 18-packs of flavoured almonds today, heheh.  i wonder if the first box is ever gonna arrive... that'll give me a total of 54 cannisters, ha!  way too many.

BTW .... we have the gold pan ..... want me to mail it or hang onto it for your next visit?  We got our dredge permit!!  We are heading into the river next trip in ..... ! 

Haven't heard anything but I'm staying positive too about camp ..... shit ..... I'd die.

oh man, i didn't even realize we'd forgotten it, heheh.  and i'm so excited you got your dredge permit!  how does that work?  is there a machine you'll use that digs up in the river?

i'll ask our friend G if he wants it back right away or if he doesn't mind that it's held over there until we come back (cuz i'd really like to come back again before summer is out!)  and i'll let you know!

Yep ..... its like a floating sluice with a long hose and you and it go around sucking up the stuff under and around rocks ..... it is the best and easiest way to recover gold and what most people on the river do.  Dave used to dredge all the time.  But hadn't really thought about it again till this year.  But it has to be somewhat decent recovery or folk wouldn't do it ..... it is a very short two month season though ..... ends Sept. 15th.  So next trip in we will have the little dredge to start ..... and see what happens ..... I'm excited.

Yeah, let me know ..... it is here at the house with us.  The pan, I mean.  lol

i totally want to get in the river!  that's one thing i wish we'd done more of... and it was just that i was mostly stoned and having a good time that i didn't even think about it, heheh.   and i had even brought my bathing suit!!!
