Now I’m not one of those people who boycotts Wal-Mart. This is fine if you do, I have a friend who refuses to go, because of the way they treat their employees. But my sister worked there, as did one of my best friends (and her husband still works there) and none of them have had any major issues with Wal-Mart. This and the fact that I am what you could affectionately call “thrifty” or more honestly describe as “cheap,” is why I am such a fan of Wal-mart. I mean where else can you get pretty much everything you need, all for 25% cheaper than regular grocery stores? As much as I like Wal-Mart, I have this rule; I refuse to go anytime later than 9am. Now let me explain this. I believe that the other customers at Wal-Mart are there for the express purpose of annoying me. They are there to try my patience. To drive me insane. I prefer to shop when these people are still asleep. So I did my usual Saturday morning routine, get up early and go to Wally World to do my weekly grocery shopping. In and out before 8am. I get home, put things away and then realize that I forgot something, uh oh. Hmm, what to do? Do I really need it bad enough to go back? I unwisely decide to break my own rule and go back, stupid choice Kristy. By this time it’s after 11am. Let me preface this by saying that I am normally a very patient person. At least I thought I was; now I’m not so sure. I noticed that I became a completely different person. Some of the thoughts that ran through my mind were;
"Watch it bitch, you can’t just cut in front of me like that."
"Sheesh dude, take up the entire freakin aisle, why dontcha. How rude."
"Ok if that kid doesn’t get out of my way, I’ll give him something to really cry about."
"Kids should not be allowed in public places!"
"Hey, Ms.-I-shouldn’t-be-wearing-that-in-public, stop prowling for your next baby daddy long enough to watch where you’re going."
I suppose this is just the price you pay for trying to save a little money. As for the purpose of this story….I don’t know. I think I just needed to rant.
