Congrats - I am glad for you...
I was attacked by a hacker and wasn't able to access the internet for a while. Anyway, thank you! I am so liking my job. It is a lot of dedication for not as much pay as I would have had in Detroit, but much greater safety and respect factors. I have papers to correct
so much to do. I know I need to get organized now! No excuses!
so much to do. I know I need to get organized now! No excuses! Yes, but like I say, I am supposed to be correcting papers, and here I sit blogging! My student's know I blog too, so they'll ask me what I did all night.
Okay you whipper snapper! I am a horrible procrastinator, aren't I? I will try back tomorrow night. I really do need to talk, seriously.
I will be working the next few days from 3pm-midnight. You can call me on the weekend if you would like...
Happy Thanksgiving to you too, alittle late, gobble gobble. Ours was gourmet, cooked by Doug. He's doing much better. How was yours?
It still sounds yummy. I know how good their cornbread is. Your picture of you when you were little is soooo cute! I especially liked the Santa one.
I think I was 3 in those pictures - but I'm not sure. I may have been 2 in the Santa one. They are both from when we lived in Eddyville.
You're soooo cute!!! I remember you that little. I wish I could be little again, so there weren't any bills to worry about.
Merry Christmas! U still beat me to the card thing, and I am still a year behind in sending my 2005 Christmas letter and card out, now late with the 2006 ones too. I am so lame!!!!!!!!!!!! So bussyyyyy too. It was really good to get your letter, so much has happened for you in a year.

Hi!
Saw your name on my visitor's list and thought I'd run over to see how you've been.
How's the job going?

How's the job going? Iffy, I am very happy with the position. It is a middle level Science ( one hour of 9th grade Physical Sci., and 2 hours of 7th grade Earth Sci.) teaching position at a small, rural, very politically imbedded community Catholic K-12 school. The school has not had any real "Catholic" administrators to set the rule for several years, and now it is under heavy reform. Many of the students have had their education spoon fed to them daily for years. It feels like a Sidney Portier day at least 4/5 days each week. The other day is Mass day, and that we just get through that as best as we can. It is just a lot of scrutinous stress, pressure and ambiguous nudging in many directions for a part time position pay scale and full time effort. I mean 12-16 hour days, seriously, and Saturdays too.
Tonight I am finding the words to draft a possibly needed resignation letter to have on hand for a meeting with Sister (our principle) tomorrow. I have had her visit my classroom 3-4 times to observe, but have not received written evaluations from any of the visits. It feels too odd. She hired me with full knowledge that my Certification is pending, but now her tune has taken a quick turn. I could easily take a new long term sub position under the WSI Sub Finder service that she found me out of, and get paid twice as much just subbing. But I am getting connected to these kids. It is a hard day. We just had so much fun drawing molecular bonds and designing volcano models today, and now I am thinking of how to say goodbye at semester's end. Hopefully I won't have to play this card, and something can be worked out for my "pending"situation. Either way I win, I guess. If I do resign, the work load lightens and I will have time to take the Science exam on-line to reinstate my DX endorsement, get together with my other art students, have time to sub for twice the pay, start typing up my Daughter's manuscript, etc. If I don't resign, I will have my first year under my belt, live to say "I did it" and move on to something bigger for next year. Our Son just got accepted to Ohio Tech. I don't know if taking this position was the right thing to do for saving up for his college tuition. It just keeps putting me in the hole -financially. But I leave it up to the Lord. Keep my 1:30-3:00 meeting time in your prayers tomorrow.
